If your company allows it, it's great. But going on sabbatical by quitting probably isn't the best idea because leaving gaps in your employment history is such a red flag in Malaysia even though you have good reasons for it. My own observations/experiences is most HR expects continuous employment and will zoom in these areas why you weren't working. Saying you need re-charge doesn't exactly indicate you have toughen it out there, or saying you want to see the world implies you don't really care much about career and/or money. You have to tread carefully....
