Hi, I recently bought a new laptop and it has been producing this annoying sound.
I did a diagnostic test and it passed. Technician also said it is normal.

Here's the sound I recorded from my laptop (might want to crank up the volume):

Is this normal? Need some opinion.

I'm little worried that it might be a bit broken due to transportation delivery.

The HDD is a 5400rpm

Thank you.

I've both listen to your HDD sound in the YouTube video & also checked your CrystalDiskInfo screenshot.
There's nothing wrong with your HDD. The sound it's making is the sound of data being written to your HDD.

You can ignore the noise. smile.gif

Hey there StepehenNg95,

Well this is pretty normal on how the HDD makes noise, even the HDD test did show up that it is normal and in good health. So nothing to worry about your laptop’s HDD.

For future references, if you ever find that the HDD is making any abnormal noises or strange noise, here's an article about determining on abnormal sounds from HDD:
