hey guys, i'm trying out the pfsense now and i got a problem here..My AM300 modem configure as bridge mode only and DHCP off. i dunno y my PPPoE cannot connect in pfsense. What is the problem here? Try modem in router mode and DHCP on, pfsense WAN use DHCP also no luck!
AM300 modem --> WAN PC--> Switch ---> LAN |

finally!! i try it on another PC and is working now!!
 nice!! i dunno wat happen with my 1st old PIII box..it just won't work..maybe is the m/b problem..not surecurrently, running on PIII 933 with 256MB RAM and 4GB SCSI HDD. Another thing is not all NIC chip are equal...their real world through out performance is different when using different chip. Don't expect a RM20 NIC can out perform a more expensive NIC like 3COM or Intel. Even u do find a internal ADSL modem, remember to check whether got driver support from the DIY OS of ur choice. Too many things to read..too little time!!  |
