Many just OEM from same factory. In the manufacturing line, there are rejected quality, QA quality. Is all depend what quality they take.

LED light are easy business. You and I also can open this led light business without high cost.

Source the material from china. Get the lowest price. You want complete OEM or assembly yourself. Apa pun boleh.  Ship in container. Get a comfortable price and sell.

For quality, that talk later. You see most of the ppl are not looking at quality. What they want is the lowest price.

RM 7 for a downlight shell, some can even go lower. Vs a solid build costing around RM 20+ buyer are blinded with the cheap price.

Light temperature really personal preference nothing, some like it daylight (5500-6500), some like it bit yellowish 4000+, some like it very yellow 3000..

Personally I hate having daylight temperature that are not bright enough.

Guys.... Need some advice...
Want to only install only one downlight for living area of 16 x 16
Is 18w downlight sufficient?

My 12x12 also need 4x2bulbs 18watt downlight to have bright level of my preference, 16x16 one 18watt maybe good go for dimming, what the area for? Of just watching movies maybe is ok. If want ti use the area for reading will be bad.

My living area is about 11x20, i have L box on ceiling amd also woth 4 set of downlight, each set have 2x18watt, if i want to watch movie, will switch on the downlight, if want bright will switch on the L box light. For normal brightness, think 4 set is good.

Use cfl downlight with external choke. Reliable and long lasting.

Hi weikee,
Thanks for the comment.
Looks like the option will be to get a light holder to hold either LED or CFL light bulb instead of getting those LED downlight which come in a set with spring that does not looks like plaster ceiling friendly...
Any good brand to recommend on the light holder and light bulb (LED or CFL) ?
Thanks.

CFL and LED compatible will be E27, but e27 CFL is build in choke, and is not reliable.

Nowadays still can find those E27 casing with external choke ?
*
E27 don't have with external choke. With external choke is different fitting and no led direct replacement.

External choke fitting is like PLC, PLL, PLT, PLS housing type. My house are using external choke type can't recall is plc or PLS, and I have not change a single bulb since I move in (2011) touch wood. The only disadvantages is flicking when start after that is ok.
