Is the above an old model of ultrawide with a ratio of 21:9 called ultrawide Full HD at a resolution of 2560 x 1080?

Hope I am not posting this on the wrong thread again.

This model no longer in production. This monitor release in year 2017.

You are correct this is Ultrawide.

I had show you all the common x:9 resolution and type in another thread. Re-attached here for your references.

Many thanks for the info.

Ya, I saw the chart in another thread, thanks! (And I am replying to that thread too).
I was curious about that chart because the old ultrawide model above just came into my head when I went deeper on UW stuff.
I remember trying a display model of it in one of the stores but that model was already sold out at that time.

That also means such a resolution (a low one) is obsolete, I guess.

Agreed it is kind of obsolete as this resolution is not a good pick for 34" and above.

They still have some 2560 x 1080 Ultrawide release by LG but I suggest only pick this resolution if you prefer smaller screen size like 29" and also if only not demand on higher refresh rate or HDR.
  • 29" is equal to 16:9 aspect ratio 24" monitor.
  • 34" is equal to 16:9 aspect ratio 27" monitor which 1080p is not really sharp on such size and to me everything just look way too big. 😅
LG 29WP60G-B is one of the example of 2560 x 1080 Ultrawide Monitor, this monitor is only 75hz not 144hz, the LG official website using a wrong image which indicate it is 144hz.
Even though this monitor support HDR but the spec is way too low and it won't look nice in HDR.

I think Windows did not do it perfect on HDR.

My Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 actually can make FALD auto switch and only on when in HDR mode if I set my desktop to SDR.
But set desktop to SDR = No HDR for streaming video included YouTube and Netflix.

Gaming and local playback HDR movie do can auto switch.

Another issue, I think Nvidia G-Sync is not perfect in Windows mode, when turn on my monitor from time to time flickering. I though my monitor rosak. lol
Default is only ON in full screen mode. So I set back but this also means if games set Windows Borderless will be not smooth and can happen tearing.

Wonder who should be blame, Windows or Nvidia.

Or Samsung should be the one to be blame. 😅

Also Finally manage put in all the cables inside the monitor leg and closed the monitor back cover. Now it looks very clean and tidy. 🥰
