1. Brand - Any but not China model (such as Huawei, Xiaomi, or etc.) because reason #4
2. Budget - around RM500-RM600
3. Specs - Any. 4G or LTE is not required. wasting battery life.
4. What you need in the phone - Good Camera, Reasonable Battery Life, Sturdy Design (not so fragile)

Currently putting an eye for Xperia C3, Zenfone 5 or Zenfone 2. but any other alternative?

hello you kind folks. sorry to trouble you people again. can you help me here?

I initially PM ed a few forumers, as well as posting in few threads, but right now I'm in this situation where picking up a phone isn't a no brainer at the moment

I'm looking for phones that meet these criteria,

a) qualcomm processor
b) 3GB RAM
c) 16GB minimum storage
d) can be rooted /flashed with custom ROMs, with xposed framework support
e) rm1300 circa

for some reason or another the phone I shortlisted wasn't to be found, so finally I did some comparisons again and found the list grew. butt again these are not easily found phones
1) oneplus one
2) LG G Pro 2
3) LG G3
4) Samsung galaxy note 3 (can get at rm1300????)
as you can see I listed these 3 phones, and I'm leaning towards the lg g pro 2, because of its 5.9 inch screen size (yes I'm a sucker for big screen sizes because I use android devices to read manga consume visual media )

but I also need some advice as to how good the GPS are since I play Ingress and I want to pick the game up again .

as for the note 3 I'm not too keen on the abysmal UI and rooting or installing custom ROM voids the warranty so badly you don't have second chances at it.
any advice?

hi there thanks. will add the two phones and xiaomi Mi note pro into the list, but then again some of the phones are on different price bracket and so it remains to be seen how good they are for the price.
right now it seems that the oppo find 7 is the better oneplus one, sans the firmware, but then again for the price (rm1700?) there are other options such as the LG g3.

price point aside I'm still open to ideas. still got a few days left before I book one online or go to the shops that I trust to get a unit .
by the way, since you use the LG g pro2, how's the modding scene? I'm probably heading towards cyanogenmod with xposed framework. this  frankenstein setup had served me very well in the past, and I wonder if this is the same for the lg g2 pro.

anyway, Zenfone 2 is one of my eye list.
But looking at the spec, probably i would chose model ZE550ML due to less screen pixel density and higher battery capacity, so that it can compensate with the battery lifetime.
the 500CL battery is too small and other model 551ML have higher pixel density that can eat the battery more.

but need to pump out more cash

How does honour 6 compare to one plus one? I heard better things from opo, but does the price reduction make honour 6 a better deal?

And I read a review that says honor 6 doesn't come with corning gorilla glass? Is it true?

Actually opo also drop price dy. About 999 can get new set from DirectD. 

Not sure bout Honor 6's gorilla glass. Some review say it has Gorilla Glass 3, but in vmall website nothing mentioned bout it. So better to just install tempered glass sp onto it as soon as u buy it. 

Both Honor 6 and opo have it's pros and cons.

If ur a heavy flasher or modder, wants bigger screen, can opt for opo.

If ur just a casual user and u wan the external microsd slot, can save up the extra RM100 and go for Honor 6.

My wife has a Honor 6, so far after using it for months, still good and smooth. The OS is quite stable IMO. I guess I'll need to have a think, Honor 6+ or OPO

I'm not too interested into changing ROMs, that's why I'm not sure if OPO is good for me.

Hi, need sifu advice on the phones below, I'm really torn between which one to choose.

My usage model:
1. Need dual sim & at least one sim with LTE/4G
2. Need good browsing speed (I use Chrome browser a lot)
3. I use Google Now, Google Map and Waze a lot
4. youtube, and social media (whatsapp, wechat, FB)
5. Hope the phone has potential upgrade to Android M or Lolipop 5.1.x
6. Good battery life
7. Budget below RM1.5k
I've narrowed down my choices to:
1. Samsung Galaxy S5 DUOs
2. LG G3 dual sim (model D858)
3. Asus Zenfone2 4G/64G or 4G/32G
Currently I'm using Redmi 2s, can't stand the 1GB ram, always stutter/lag when browsing. Battery life so so only.

Anyone knowledgeable about phone above mind to let me know the good /the bad?
If you have other alternative phone suggestions please recommend too.

Huawei Honor 4x vs Meizu M1 Note.  Looking for an affordable phablet.  Main use will be GPS, browsing, camera.  Like the 4x's SDcard and Note's FHD screen but can't have best of both worlds I guess.

2. Budget. RM600 below
3. Specs. 2GB RAM, 8 or 16GB ROM, good processor
4. What you need in the phone:
-No lag
-dual sim is a must

-aftersales service (just in case)
-no or few bloatware (but as long as it doesn't eat too much ram thats ok, probably)

I am pretty much an average user. mostly used whatsapp, telegram, line, usual web surfing, watching youtube
listen to music messaging, calling. as for games I only play chess, reversi, poker some angry birds (not into games such as asphalt, etc.)
my current samsung SIII have start to show its age thus need a replacement.

seriously looking at both huawei 3c and 4c as well as asus zen5. A7000 still needs some reading though. needs some user input on these phones

will definitely going for black colour and put a tough case such as spigen.

Hi all sifus, I'm considering to get a new primary phone. Would like your opinions:

2. Budget - 2k+/-
3. Specs - Nothing in particular, generally all round decent specs will do.
4. What you need in the phone - Again, nothing in particular. Long battery life is a bonus, removable battery also a bonus.

Coming from the old Galaxy S3, I was interested in Galaxy S6 but was put off with the lack of SD card. I would very much prefer to just plug in my current SD card on to the new phone rather than copying all my MP3s over.

I would welcome recommendation of alternatives. Heard about the LG G4 and HTC One M9 plus, any opinions? Pros and Cons?
