QUOTE(eastwest @ Jan 19 2016, 09:45 AM)
compared to rn2, which one is better?

My colleague said that Lenovo phone are not durable. Usually after 1 year, all sort of problem came out. my brother in law Lenovo phone also have problem (I'm not sure the model though)...

QUOTE(eastwest @ Jan 19 2016, 09:47 AM)
Since I don't know the launch date, probably will get rn2... besides, rn3 initial price will be more than rm800, right?
*
Not comparing the quality, for sure Redmi Note 2 raw power is more powerful than Lenovo A6010.
From everything, screen resolution, screen size, battery capacity, camera resolution, RN2 is considerably more in terms of number.

I think the closest Lenovo phone that is comparable to Redmi Note 2 is Lenovo A7000 Plus/K3 Note.

Quality wise, yes, Lenovo phone actually has more quality problem.
Phone death, phone hang are common Lenovo issue, especially on their lower end model.
Buying depend on luck, but I mostly heard serious lag and restart issue from friend.

RN3 is still not a confirm launch for international market. Pricing may be more expensive.
Performance wise will likely same with RN2, since the processor is the same, unless they launch the Pro version, but still unconfirmed.

Only choice now is AP set for RN3, if you can accept with the AP warranty from vendor (repair take up insanely long, no genuine warranty with genuine part).

Thanks.. I've decided to buy rn2.. hopefully I don't regret it biggrin.gif

Recommend you hand on the Redmi Note 2 phone at any phone shop before deciding la.
It is still a mid range phone, won't comparable to any new high end phone, but may be comparable to high end phone release at early year of 2013 (such as Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One M7).

The first thing you may not like is it's screen quality, which tend to be more yellowish, viewing angle not wide enough, then max brightness is not bright enough.
Won't comparable to any good LCD or AMOLED.

Second thing is the lack of apps drawer, you may feel strange on the 1st usage.

I have received my Zuk Z1 from them. Guess what? They sent me a used unit and the manual guide book is missing. The box is seal sticker is full of black fur thing, which I think they kept it for a long time. And the unit even have a Cyanogen Preview watermark on the bottom right of the screen. vmad.gif  I also suspect they rooted the device before as I checked the System folder is already readable and writable. Gonna try get replacement or refund through Lazada. Anyone has experience in getting refund/replacement through Lazada before?  hmm.gif

EDIT: To others who may not know, I bought from Lazada and the seller is IDSmartphone.
*
Can contact Lazada for replacement or refund.
Normal refund procedure has to fill in return form, but you can force return to get forced refund. Just need to shipped back to Lazada with the order detail copy will do, everything return back within 7/14 days are negotiatable.

Did you dealt with Lazada on return/replacement before? Not sure if my condition will get refund or replacement from them.  hmm.gif
*
Yes, deal with Lazada on return before.
Anything return before 7 or 14 days, can get refund without any reason, it is the guarantee offer by Lazada for customer satisfaction. Of course, your item must pack back into the proper original box or packaging, and must in ok condition, no scratching or damage, they will inspect for that.

You can specify that you are not satisfied with the product you bought, and request for refund.

You can also hand carry your item to Lazada warehouse if you stay very near.

Thanks for the advice. Will try to do that.  smile.gif
Btw, @Alan Yee Which reasons of return should I choose for my condition?
*
You can choose "Not As Expect" .
Then, there is extra column for you to type in more reason for you to return your item, just write in anything that you feel not happy.

By the way, how long did you got your refund back last time?
I will have to try my luck to get refund from Lazada.  sweat.gif Hope I can get it.  yawn.gif
*
Depend on bank.
Lazada actually very fast to initiate the refund, take one to two days.
But bank/credit card may take up one week to debit back the amount.

Hi guys, need a phone recommendation for my gf.

Brand: Prefer famous brand like Samsung, Asus, Lenovo, Sony than xiaomi, meizu, etc. Had a really bad experience with the Mi Note.

Budget: rm500-600

Preference: Smooth OS with decent camera and screen (5").

Thanks!
*
Downgrade from Xiaomi Mi Note (not Redmi Note?) to RM500 to RM600 phone?

lol.sorry2. was confusing between the flagship and redmi one. It was the Redmi note. So, any suggestions?
*
Simple, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, currently using this.

Other brand, maybe you can consider Meizu M1 Note 32GB, or M2 Note.

If strictly 5" screen, then Alcatel Flash 2, Meizu M2.

If you don't care battery life, then ASUS Padfone S, 5", 16GB also worth the consideration.

Hmm, I'd rather stay away from those brand right now. what about the asus zenfone 2 laser or lenovo a7000 plus? worth the money?
*
Stay away from Zenfone and Lenovo brand.
Famous brand phone at RM500~RM600 budget is much more under perform than those stated brand.

Actually the ASUS Padfone S is has the best spec among those, Snapdragon 801 processor, same processor used on Sony Xperia Z2. It let down by its small battery capacity.

Second behind is Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, which is a complete overhaul from original Xiaomi Redmi Note. It used the same processor as HTC One E9+, Mediatek Helio X10.

hey guys, currently using samsung note 3, but feel wanna change already. i don't care much about specs though and now eyeing something more smaller and better build, cheaper too.

currently i'm aiming for one plus x, great design, 5 inch screen, don't really mind the SD801 though, not heavy user anyway.

but before that, is there any other alternatives besides one plus x that within the price bracket? would like to widen my options before making the final call.

Thanks!
*
Huawei Honor 7 actually quite good, metal build quality. 5.2" screen, with finger print sensor.
If you just don't mind of not having Micro SD slot and 4G, Xiaomi Mi4 (not Mi4i) is also a good choice, 5" screen, cheapest and also very powerful with SD801 processor.

If you want some branded stuff, Sony Xperia Z2 actually is around that price range, very near to Oneplus X, 5.2" screen.

A little upper end, maybe you can consider the HTC One M8 Eye, metal body, 5" screen.

10k battery for Samsung, LG already have if I am not mistaken, Zerolemon.

How good is Asus Zenfone Max vs Lenovo P1?
*
Power saving component and OS optimization also play important role in power saving.

Screen : AMOLED, IGZO, LTPS
Processor : Smaller processing process (11nm, maybe can go smaller), or power saving processor that auto down clock on idle time.
Battery : High quality battery that actually prolong battery life, not just the capacity matter
3G/4G/WiFi : More power saving 3G/4G/WiFi chip.
OS : Optimize battery usage, then remove all unwanted bloatware running in background.

If it's unlimited budget and best low light it's going to be none other than Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1

Ops. forgot this phone existence.. tongue.gif

Edit: Check the sample, I found that too much noise and detail lost compare to iPhone 6S Plus.

This is Android thread  tongue.gif I see the samples from 6S Plus samples, nope. CM1 is superior. If you compare apple to apple ISO level, the DMC1 offers far superior image quality.
*
Hahaha.... Suggest don't go for this la.
I get a feeling like less popular model phone tend to have much less OS support, like the phone won't get any Marshmallow update, or won't getting any bug fix.

Stick with something like LG G4, LG V10, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, for better overall upgrade, and more support, with still acceptable camera quality, rather than picking something rare.

If really want some good camera with best low light, get a standalone camera instead, with far more superior sensor and lens, promise much better image quality.

No not really, a more popular phone brand also abandoned a lot of their phones from updates. The CM1 already been upgraded to Lollipop, Marshmallow only give minor updates. But you shouldn't buy the CM1 unless you uncle benny rich, go to Lazada and search for it's price laugh.gif

My rule of thumb for low light photography is it must have long exposure to take good pics, or if you took handheld night pics, OIS sure will help
*
Well, depend on company, I own some branded less popular phone, and end up just stick to Kitkat or Jellybean only.
Well, depend on luck I guess. Those brand are Samsung and ASUS. They just focus on their flagship phone updates or bug fix.

Zenfone Max ar???
Err..... battery is 5000mah, battery confirm can last longer.

But processor is very slow, SD410, Quad core 1.2Ghz, same as Redmi 2.
May end up getting slow response, lag as Redmi 2.
RAM is not much a concern here, but processor is seriously causing the slow response.

Some people might suggest ASUS Zenfone Selfie, for it's front 13MP camera, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, SD 615.

Is there oneplustwo still a good phone to buy now? decided to increase my budget to 1.7K.

64GB, 4GB RAM, then have fingerprint scanner, SD810 processor.
At this price, nothing beat it.

It's closest competitor, maybe are the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, which is only AP Set.
Or, the ZTE AXON Elite, should be local Malaysia set.

Both set are priced close to 1.9K.
It's your choice.
