If he wasn't such an illiterate and could at least word his wall of text properly with proper context then I would've read what he had to say, but instead all I got from it was "stfu stfu i am pr0." "stfu i joined some dota qualifier so i am g0d so u stfu pls"

well that is james' style. valve knows this yet they still hired him. there are other hosts if they wanted a more professional environment such as redeye/chobra but they chose james.

the production value is more of a shitshow than the panel.

Not possible unless you have a directional mic. Probably just set it to push-to-talk so that you don't consistently spam the mic with background noise.
