Means you get less gold and EXP for kills in the early game and less gold when you group together during a kill.

It's because having your mid lane gank is an old and outdated style of play.

The potential exp and gold advantage you can get by winning your mid lane is so big that supports should be rotating to mid to win their lane instead of the other way around. Mid isn't exclusive to "nukers" or heavy magic damage dealers. It's why you see heroes like Naga and Ember go mid, because they can win their lane by themselves with the right matchup and scale extremely well with farm.

For anyone else, you can disable help from your teammates so they can't use their spells on you (Io' Relocate, KOTL's Recall, etc.)
