it depends on your style, do you like babysitting? or you prefer roaming around creating space, forcing TPs from oppo support so your cores can farm? i'm the latter one.

i prefer melee supports like Pudge, Kunkka, Riki, Elder Titan, Earth shaker, Earth Spirit, and Nyx.. as for ranged supports, rubick, oracle and kotl.

if you can play your role well, it's really effective.

make sure to always carry a smoke as pos 4 player from start.

yay just reached my 5k too. 5029 now        , im a heavy mid player, (every game play mid,also play mid for my team), but while playing in Solo queue i found out theres always 4 cores, so i went support for 1 month , 4200 > 5000 now  in 2months

5k is realy hard to climb up lol, been a week now.. and peaked at 5130. mostly average mmr games are 5.3 ~ 5.5. if unlucky will get 4.8 ~ 4.9.... met alot 6ks, and play like shit =.=

my way is always positive mental attitude, always pick support first. let your team feel comfortable picking cores, even if 4 carry, nvm, do ur job, ward up teams jungle , or lanes, so they wont get ganked or die easily. and the remaining part is depend on what ur hero can help in. I play rubick alot, because i feel its most versatile support. if enemy has omni =  my team has omni skills too... keep stealing repel/ heal/ulti .. etc.. really depend how u play    4.2 > 5.1 now

most monitor LED that cost less than RM1k should be capped around 60fps, this is due to the refresh rate that capped at 60hertz, so no worries, nomatter how powderful ur GPU, if your monitor is 60 hertz instead of 120 hertz, then you will always be capped at 60 fps

Keeping positive mental is quite hard in 2k. I usually pick support, despite 3 carry melee in my team. I always give mid ward and tangos, despite my jungler also asking for tangos. I always ward jungle and runes despite my cores keep getting ganked for not looking at minimaps. I always babysit my carry despite mid complain I not ganking mid. I always pull creeps to manage wave equilibrium despite my carry autohit creeps and 0 denies. My team love to spam "we need wards" on chat, but does no missing report. If they fail to gank enemy, its my fault because battider at lvl 4 has no blink. If they die, its my fault for not saving them. If their lc has no duel dmg, its disruptor fault for not picking omniknight instead.

But you're right. Most times we won, is because of good lineup and good teamplay. A good carry makes me a better support, a good support makes for a better team coordination. Just pray you don't get farmer team.

Also, I'' looking to try Rubik. But can spmeone give advise when is it best to pick him?

should go hard carry all the way if u r 2-3k. i've climbed from 2.6k to 4.2k in 2months doing hard dumb carry, mainly pa,am,luna,sniper,drow,medusa. After 4k support all the way up to 5k. XD

Pick rubicks when u see lots of crazy ss's in ur opponent teams. ie. luna/es/enigma/naga/void.

Doesn't really work for me, I'm usually the top killer in the whole game (after taking enemy into account as well). The PA, AM, Sniper, Drow, Medusa in my team usually ends up faggots aka having lesser kills & more deaths than the supporters. While the PA, AM, Sniper, Drow, Medusa in my enemy team usually ends up godlike & impossible to kill.

I can dominate the game from early until mid, but at the end game the whole tide can turn against my side.

Then there's this curse that I often get too; when i check my teammates play charts & recent games (last 20 games), they have the chart of a supporter & plays support roles. BUT during that particular game with me, they just have to pick carry & farm 50 minutes non stop in jungle. Another one is again based on their recent games, they've been playing a particular hero really well, but during that particular game with me, they just have to pick a hero they never played in the past 20 games & farm 50 minutes non stop in jungle. Basically, of all the games......my teammates just have to be retarded in my games
