bank accoount less than $500, bank deduct $2/month for adminstrative charges...

Family of 5? all adults or children inclusive? I have a question to ask, what sort of life style you are looking at?
lots depends on your spending pattern... and whether you have excess for other stuff...

i eat less then $10 a day...

lunch $3 at akira...
nite time normally around $2.5 can free add rice sumore...
walk to work...
no entertainment at all...

You are really thrift... so save quite a bit of $$$ to bring back to MY and spend like King? or at least.. spend alittle more luxuriously... Actaully you still can spare alittle more for some food... and still can save. But really, its your choice what you intend to do.. Earn as much as you can when young, and retired early? or for old age....?

I know several other Malaysians too earn much lesser than many here such as shop assistants something like just over SG$1k.. still surviving and sending money home.. another one.. many yrs ago.. I was told, she was from Perak.. whenever she went home... all her relatives would suck up to her for .... you know whatever $$$$ .. so she siad she hate it most whenever she went home for CNY...
