hi..everyone, im new here...i wonder about job opportunies in sg related to hotel or hospitality...?? how about job opportinies in sentosa island in 2010 followed by new casino, hotels n some entertainment during that period brows.gif

Hi.. I must say, you are spot on, there will be something like 1000 jobs in this area and not enough people as reported to fill this gap.... more hotels are coming up in other areas of SG not forgetting the IR.... most institutions of education are training more people in this area. You may want to try it out. However, I udnerstand hotel lines in SG, do not really advertise like any other companies most of the time. So finding a job might be tougher than thought. However, no harm as I know there are also many foriegn workers in this sector....

There is ALOT of students studying in Polytechnics now, in courses that are related to the Integrated Resorts. This has already pushed the Cut-Off-Point (calculated from the O levels) down to near single-digit, becoming more popular than the usual Bio-Chemical courses.

Hence, most of the good job positions should be eaten up by all of them.

I have a Bachelor Degree in International Business Administration. Have been working in an Horticultural company for more than 6 year, as a IT HOD, Production Manager, etc and earning RM4k/ month.

What are the chances to apply for jobs in S'pore?

Thinking of getting into the Banking Industry in S'pore, at least if i planning to go back to Malaysia, still manage to get bank jobs.

Guys n gals, any opinion?

TQ

From IT and production in a horticultural company to a bank? Apart from entering the Mgt Trainee programs for freshies, I reckon the chances are slim to none.

Hi,
I'm about to accept a job there.

May I know if there are 3 rooms flat/apartments for rent there? My office will be at Keppel Road, near Sentosa.

I wish to know the rate and location too. Thanks.

Answer to the first question is: Yes, Singapore has many 3 room flats and apartments for rent.

The second question... don't you think that's a question for a real estate agent? But I did post the websites of the most popular rental advertising forums in Sg earlier in this thread. You'll need to do a bit of reading or searching within this thread though, unless you can find a kind forumer to do it for you.

Hey,
Thanks for your hints. I admit I should have first search with Google at least before asking here. But, it not wrong for me to ask around in this forum, since I am already looking around...hehehe. Yea, reading all post will be the best, if I have the time.

I shall search elsewhere then. smile.gif

So I'm going to graduate this May and have no related banking experience.

Is that very hard for sb like me to find a banking job in Singapore? I'm majoring in finance and doing average in study.
Is it advisable to gain some experience first in Malaysia then only go to Singapore?

Thanks

just try to apply for fresh grad jobs in SG.

i felt that if you fail to find a job in SG you'll probably won't get a good one in MY anywayz...

Market here is pretty good and it's much easier to get a good job in SG than in MY.

Global inflation is hitting everywhere, Singapore can't be excludeas well.
Even sg government claims 65% hawker center food haven't increase price for past 9 month, but in fact my surrounding more than 70% stall already increase their price.

But normally the big corporation positions are filled around this time?

And I heard that basically you have to have 3 year experience to be considered since you are non-Singaporean because they want local people who don't need any housing allowances.

How true is that?

Thank you

The government statistics is becoming more of a joke these days.
They should send someone out to weigh the "Hokkien Mee" these days, rather than just pulling a groundless remarks.
