I've got my EP finally! Will move to s'pore on monday & start work on tues.. Hopefully working in s'pore is not as stressful as all other saying la~ (Even the banker also told me so while i was trying to open an account in a bank). Go enjoy photography after work *dreaming*

Part of the reason dat i intend to work in S'pore is dat Msia has sucks public transport system! No car cannot survive at all.. Things changed nowadays.. last time, people work hard hard for the sake of buying a car to reward themselves. Now?! U must at least get a car first before u can get a job & start working in Msia. *geleng kepala* Everything on rise.. toll, petrol then car maintenance fees $$$

p/s: btw, any dslr users here? looking forward to try it la..

BASIC Cost of Living in Singapore (Monthly)
=====================
Monthly Rent - 450
Food - 500
Public Transport - 150

Roughly you need about S$ 1100 per month for basic necessities.

Others
====
Mobile Phone - 70
Cable - 60
*
That is actually quite an overestimation.

I am not sure about the rent.

For food, SGD$500 a month is about $15 a day, which is more than enough, since the usual hawker center food costs around $3-$4. Buying your own plain bread and put butter even cheaper. =P

If you are always required to travel, there is a "season pass" so you can travel on buses with no limit at all. (http://www.sbstransit.com.sg/SeasonPass/features.htm)

For mobile phone, a cheap plan with 100 minutes talktime, free incoming calls all day, 500 sms, only S$25.88 monthly. See starhub.com for details. Other mobile providers are M1 and Singtel.

$45 or less can get you internet, see this http://www.singnet.com.sg/plans_and_servic....asp?snbb=3Matl still got free Xbox =D

Correct food is cheeap there at S$3~4 no problems morning u can eat bread the but u have to spend on travelling where it wont cost more than S$1.9.

The accomodation is the killing part.....range from S$450~ 650 for common room i mean for HDB flats.

Entertainment ....up to u ~ dont forget the yearly sale on July/ Augues man is cheaper than M'sia Mega sale hehe

The GSS or Great SG Sale starts in late May and ends in somewhere mid July... No problem if you really are waiting for sales and discount. During each of the school holiday period and even festive seasons, there are always sales, especially those at SG Expo. How cheap, I don't know, never compared before if you were to convert. However, I can say, last Dec back from KL shopping, I found many of those things I bought, are eitehr of the smae price after conversion or slightly cheap at this sales.. So your judgement.

I would say, dollar for dollar, definitely, this sales can match of those of MY.. Not forgetting you are getting SG$, not RM. Therefore, plenty of spending power at such sales.

morning smile.gif

ya i went there on end of june for some EXpo exibition...

the CK there is not as cheap as M'sia but if u earning S$ hehe then it mighy be different story..coz the goods like S$40~S$100+ where s'porean can easily earn that much and afford to pay...

but i love the food pricing there is pretty cheap for S#3~4 dollers hehe i mean the value of figures compare the M'sia things kept on increasing..

Cheapest is actually Singnet, which has a plan that gives 1Mbps unlimited usage and costs $15/month.

Also, places like mcdonalds have got free wifi. I think certain crowded places like bus interchange, shopping malls will also have wifi.

With regards to the Great Singapore Sale, most neighbourhood shops also sell stuff at low prices all year round, just have to keep a lookout for the good deals thumbup.gif

1Mbps will soon be dying out... in another few years time, SG will be wired for 1Gbps, GOv is paying for the infrasture...

neighbourhood shops very much depends... not necessary cheap.. much depends on which area you from. In my neighbour, there is one shop that generally selling sundry items cheaper than most, sometimes, even cheaper than MY after conversion. But not all the time. Again, if you are within a rich communoty, don't expect things to be cheaper...
