QUOTE(LDP @ Sep 1 2016, 11:24 AM) but still i keep on hearing from agent, u can make 40% profit easily lar, and blar blar, The ethics of what the agents are doing is questionable.dividend is great lar... and then they point to you the straight line chart, naik naik naik, and then u can guna epf hentam, no need cash upfront and blar blar... Since Public Bank is the owner, the question applies to them too. Having said that, at the end of the day, "buyers beware" applies. |

What to do? A lot depends on your investment time-frame.
If you have just started working and investing, continue to do regular investing and don't worry about the ups-and-downs so much. If you are nearing retirement, you probably need to be more defensive in your portfolio. Trump has F--- things up for the world economy. Tariffs are a lose-lose solution for everyone including Trump's voters. Things will be volatile while he is still in charge. I hope Americans are sensible enough to kick him out the next election. QUOTE(boldsouljah @ Oct 6 2019, 11:09 PM) When you say dump, you mean bring back the cash to EPF and lose RM6.7k. I think it is very unlikely it will go up in the next few years, and it is most likely that it will not go up more than EPF.No chance for this value to go up at all? (For Public Index Fund) ? If you look at the performance chart, it is now at the same profit level since 2013. In other words, no profit since 2013. With EPF, you would got 6years x6% = 36% since then. You would have done better with even FD. To be fair, the mandate is too narrow. PM funds are under-performing with over-priced service charge so they can pay the agents to go and A cut-loss decision should not be based on how much you have already lost, but on future potential. If no potential, your loss would be even higher because you need to also consider opportunity costs. That's only my opinion, of course. What you actually do with your money, you have to decide. |

QUOTE(not timid and slow @ Feb 27 2020, 09:58 PM) to be fair, the extraordinary event, political havoc. which caused the sudden dip. should not detract from the excellent management n performance of the preceding 12 months It's nothing to do with "excellent" management. so im told Almost every global shares/indexes have gone up in the past 12 months. Many of them achieving 30% or more. MSFT achieved 80% or thereabouts. What PM has achieved can best described as mediocre (well below average, under-perform) Are you an agent? |
