QUOTE(horns @ Sep 27 2017, 05:57 PM) from what i know, dell officially offers warranty period of max 4 years, starting from the date of purchase; meaning you can extend warranty to max 4 years. m17x r4 was released in 2012. it's 5 years old now. ah nice please try; i would like to see if there are some other ways to do this. just kepoh; my two babies are still working very nicely 2014 manu yr is the earlier i can do... maximum 4yr dell allow u to extend.. example 2014.. then u can extend till 2018

QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Sep 27 2017, 06:04 PM) wondering if got -problem, baru extend the warranty can? haha imo it's better to cover for the first 3 years. once it passed that you should be thinking more about getting new ones instead. this is partly because electronics do age internally with time; and the longer the time period, the replacement parts you can get are most probably refurbished. with new purchase, you can get new and useful technologies which are not found in old models.

for the sake of other users, aw m17x r4, and aw17 r1 can use this 240w ac/dc power adapter, https://www.lelong.com.my/dell-pa-9e-240-wa...7-01-Sale-I.htmif you wanna have less stress and heat on the adapter, use a 330w, https://www.lelong.com.my/dell-alienware-m1...7-01-Sale-I.htmthe price difference is just myr 10.00. both will work (my m17x r4 is running on the 330w for some years already). if you're in doubt, please verify with the seller. as for other models, i'm not sure.
