17" is definitely out of my target. 2.4KG (excl. charger brick) is actually quite heavy to hand carry at airport. That's why I'm thinking to sacrifice GPU power for 13" Alienware...

I have to carry 2 laptop, 1 for personal use after work and 1 for company laptop during travel... so weight is important...

You won't go wrong with the new AW 13. Even if you don't opt for the OLED panel, color gamut and accuracy wise is on par with most good displays.

yeah that soldered thing. sad. to be safe imo it's better to do direct swap of the whole mobo, rather than asking someone capable to do soldering. we don't know for sure if the gpu swap can actually be done easily just by mere soldering. not sure if the circuitry in pcb is compatible for the replacement gpu.

bo la i bought for gpu one; seriously with water gpu runs at very low temperatures under loads and oc (42c max, mau lebih also don't give)

If it is something like RM 600 to RM 800, I can still afford to pay for it. But, for RM 1860, it is something beyond my ability.

Going to other repair shops (not related to Dell) may be cheaper, but is risky, as the technician may not be familiar with custom-built laptops like Alienware. Sigh.

Hi, I have an important question to ask.

I have an Alienware Desktop. Recently my PC freeze and restart often, sometimes blue screen, sometimes even by sitting idle, but most of the time when playing games.

I have done all the online recommended measures like update driver, etc but still the same. So I suspect is hardware problem. I have done the diagnostic test, even several times the PC freeze when I tried to run long tests, but I managed to do individual test for each component and found out there is no problem.

So I suspect it's the PSU problem. I kind of feeling the PSU is failing. As the symptoms become more frequent (from once a month, once a week to everyday now).

My questions:

1) Is my diagnosis correct?

2) How to replace PSU for Alienware? I'm out of warranty, can I call Dell and pay them?

However, from the website can bring the price down to RM6.4k with the default specs of:

256GB SSD
1080p IPS Display

Yep, buyer have a choice to game on IPS or OLED.
Save the money play games on 1080p native IPS, no need to worry with OLED burn-in.
