QUOTE(e-Shagger @ Oct 16 2018, 12:29 PM) Hi all. I have an Alienware 14 (2013 model). Looking to upgrade to play some games i.e. Dota 2, Final Fantasy, GTA 5 etc. Thinking of upgrading the follows:- 1. From current RAM of 4GB, planning to add another 8GB. 2. Switching from HDD to 480GB SSD. Please advise me if I can do the above (whether my Alienware 14 would support em). Thanks. Final Fantasy XV crazy power hungry game, even desktop PC with GTX1070 also got stuttering problem ....

QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Oct 16 2018, 01:18 PM) Obviously no impact. hdd and ram doesnt run the game. Those only will improve on your launching and not running. Basically, the playing experience will be the same as now. Limiting factor is the cpu and gpu i think we "old man" should practice pro setting de.. if not we cant teach them how to maximize their spec... learning how to set my game oso

If give liquid metal to dell engineer they can apply or not?
Also if I buy alienware with the 120hz gsync tn panel, and later want to change to normal ips or Oled should be no problem right? Or does it need to be gsync compatible also?

Check on the Net regarding how to paste with LM before u proceed.

This is not DBrand skin btw. Found in shopee for RM63 (+ post). Covers top bottom, inside and both sides. The glue is not crazy strong, so can reapply many times QUOTE(nicks @ Oct 26 2018, 04:34 PM) Get yours here: Alienware Carbon Fiber SkinThis post has been edited by Zelz92: Oct 26 2018, 08:52 PM

My screen will do this from time to time. It won't display anything waking up after hibernation. Close the lid (it'll hibernate) and turning it back on again do the trick. Anyone experiencing the same thing?

Hi guys, I just bought an Alienware 15 R3.
Temperatures for CPU & GPU were horrendous initially after playing 15 mins of f****** lightweight Overwatch.
CPU: 100 degrees GPU: 93 degrees
Called Dell and ordered them to replace my heatsink and fans (I was basically barking orders on the phone). Technician shows up the next day with parts.
He told me the older 2016 - 2017 fans had an older design and it is installed onto the laptop subframe whereas new 2018 fans are attached to the heatsink assembly instead. Unfortunately, the replacement heatsink ships with stock thermal paste from the factory so I couldn't use my Arctic thermal paste.
Temperatures after heatsink and 2 fans replacement substantially dropped. Tested Witcher 3 and Far Cry 5.
CPU: 80 - 83 degrees GPU: 71 - 73 degrees
Benchmark scores 3dmark Firestrike: 10,080 Superposition 1080p Extreme: 2115 CINEBENCH R15: 710
As I'm typing this, I noticed that there are 2 buttons that do not register. Absolutely love the laptop overall but Dell has really SHITTY QC. Dell should sack or torture their QC personnel for committing crimes against humanity.
