Is there any way to bring Hannah to this thread? I want to hear her stance before I start my bashing.
Summoning joe_mamak to come forward and defend.
Why Hannah Yeoh so pro-Rohingya?, Has family relation with Rohingya?

QUOTE(joe_mamak @ May 18 2015, 02:36 AM) Eh? I kena summoned for this? To defend Hannah? That Hannah Yeoh 2 ways I look at it.No need lah. Red FM had this moderation piece on air these few days. Something about who do you stand up for. Is it someone of your religion? Someone from your own community. Someone with the same skin tone as you? You decide. Because that is where you draw the line for your humanity; where your humanity stops. You want to draw the line at Malaysians and let the rest die on the boats, that's your prerogative. In any case, no one is saying to let the Rohingyas stay in Malaysia. This is about offering help on humanitarian grounds. I say let them come ashore, feed them, house them, find ways to repatriate them. Or work with other ASEAN countries to find a solution. At least don't let them die on those boats. Firstly, they are lazy opportunists right in the beginning. There were Bangladeshi and Rohingya on the ship. Instead of going through a proper process (i.e. getting citizenship, work permit etc), they chose to take the risk sailing South. So, the situation is, they made the decision you pay the price. Lazy motherfuckers who opt an easy way out. Secondly, Rohingya could have walked back to Bangladesh, instead of sailing South. They could have got their citizenships in Bangladesh and got their working permit to work in other countries. I mean there are options. They could have done that 70 years ago when they wanted to build an Islamic state. But they chose to be rebellious. Again, they made the decision you pay the price. Lazy motherfuckers who opt an easy way out. If they need food and water, give them. They won't die if they have food and water. Need fuel, give them. Need medicine, give them. If their ships sink, give them sampan. Then, ask them to go back to Bangladesh. During WW2, Jews couldn't walk back to Israel. For Rohingya, they could walk back to Bangladesh. They could just walk. The ships are not seaworthy, still they want sail South. As Dean Winchester said, they had it coming. |

QUOTE(neoexcaliber @ May 18 2015, 08:10 AM) They can't because Bangladesh doesn't want them. They're already housing a large number of them and their economy is worse than ours. Plus, the Rohingya did side with Pakistan vs Bangladesh during the war so their relationship is kinda awkward. Let me test it.Other countries don't want them, yet they still sail South. Bangladesh doesn't want them, they can't walk back. Don't be a lazy ass that opt for an easy way out. Do you know many Rohingya went on board from Bangladesh? Yes, they walked back to Bangladesh and got on the boat. Walk back to Pakistan. If Rohingya is the ally of Pakistan, as you said. Their war, their problem. They just had it coming. |

QUOTE(joe_mamak @ May 18 2015, 10:34 AM) They have been facing violence for a while now in Myanmar. Bangladesh, back in 2012 denied entry to some of them because they were viewed as an "economic burden" to Bangladesh. I am not sure if that policy remains. But as it is, about 30,000 of them are already in refugee camps in Bangladesh. They should have gone back 70 years ago, since the day they wanted to set up an Islamic state. In any case, the here and now is that they are on boats, with limited food, water and fuel. Boats with questionable seaworthiness. Whether they are economic refugees or otherwise, let the UNHCR handle it. Or you rather they die? Even though they are fleeing Myanmar for economic reasons, not that I say they are. PS Seems like DPM already said they would be repatriated. At least they live lah. |

QUOTE(joe_mamak @ May 18 2015, 10:54 AM) IIANM, most of them are not here "legally". They find their way into Malaysia illegally. They then seek UNHCR refugee status. Get UNHCR solve the issue. Here, an interesting read - http://www.unhcr.org/535e465a9.html There are already 35,000 of them registered as refugees over the years. Set up a refugee camp in Bangladesh perhaps. |

QUOTE(joe_mamak @ May 18 2015, 11:07 AM) Some didn't want war. They duduk diam-diam, make a living, put food on the tables for their families, yet they get caught up in the racial strife. They duduk diam diam, walk back to Bangladesh. They had nothing coming to them. They caught in crossfire, itu nasib. Shit happens. |

QUOTE(joe_mamak @ May 18 2015, 11:38 AM) Why you want to go around while you can tell Rohingya straight in the face "walk back to Bangladesh"? Let them find their ways back to Bangladesh. They have the balls sail South, they have the balls waging wars, they have no balls to walk back to Bangladesh? |
