My son has jaundice at week1 n doc said it is normal. Keep breast feeding and it should go down. I didn't try the old school style where you put your baby outside under the sun for a while. So now my baby is one month old and we went back to see the doc. Doc said she could see my son still has joindice n said this could be normal joindice level. So wait for 1 more month and we what happens was her respond.

Now I don't think my kid jaundice level is that bad but what worries me is that it's been 1 month since he was born he still has jaundice. Reading online says by 2 weeks all jaundice should be gone. Anyone of you parents out there faced this kind of situations? I do hope things will improve in the coming weeks for my kid.

Breast feeding baby sometimes will have pro long jaundice. My twins had jaundice for about 3 months. The consistency of feeding must be there. Also take your baby out in morning sun will help

We can keep on saying jaundice this and that. But did you do the most important thing of taking blood sample? This can know what is the level and what is the next action to be taken.

Same like my daughter last time, even after her fullmoon still got jaundice. I even diy bubileen light at home, it did make her jaundice gone for a while but it still coming back. Bring her to doctor to do blood test, results said is not that serious. Just keep breastfeed her then now she is 9 months old...a healthy girl.

Dear god, how did you setup your diy UV light treatment?

I've never heard of such an risky thing ever. I trust you closed (properly) your baby's sensitive areas,(e.g. Eyes)

Sometimes without the UV treatment, the birilubin levels drop by themselves. It could take more than a month and over a month is nothing alarming. However, you should get a blood test immediately to see the severity of the jaundice.

That said, the period the jaundice stays with the baby varies from baby to baby. As always, consult your doctor when you have any doubts and also before attempting any traditional or diy methods.
