QUOTE(Phoenix_Cypher_K1 @ Oct 26 2006, 12:17 AM) Do you think Play-Asia will possibly suffer the same fate as Lik Sang? Since they sell Sony consoles as well, not to mention they too ship to Europe.... most probably will. maybe now Sony no more money so extort on small trader.Let's just hope this doesn't get any worse....with Lik Sang out of business, that is one less option for consumers to buy from...especially to countries which lack official support... Sony bullying the smaller trader with multiple law suits because Sony know they don't have the resource to defend. of coz Sony didn't have the direct effect to Lik Sang closing. it's just a twist of word. the effect of Sony lawsuit makes Lik Sang to close their business. maybe they going to sell off their asset to pay Sony. |

Sony probably got awarded damages that FAR exceeded Lik-Sang's ability to cough up assets. Damned Sony - it's one thing to put a monopoly on imports, but shutting down a third party vendor that provides an option to customers to buy legal, safe imports is another.
Today is officially HATE SONY DAY. Thank you. |

i hope other e-retailers gang up to boycott $ony
Cancel the pre-order of PS3, and selling any $ony products... who knows they'll be the next victim?? PlayAsia and YesAsia still can survice without selling $ony products, as they sell other things like DVDs and other misc items too. SCREW YOU $ONY!!! |

it's a sad turn of event in the games e-retailers stories. I guess in the wake of the court decision...all the other region will follow suit and ride on the rulling. Soon there will be no more import games hardware or software?!
Honestly i think Sony is just finding a scapegoat to pin their failure for PSP lack of interested and sales ( compared to nintendo ). At the end everybody losses...especially us malaysia. Lack of support and lack of interested in this region will opt user to join the dark side and in the end piracy will grew even stronger! Only time will tell if the Empire will strike to the other e-retailers. So..."mari kita lihat sapa yang kena?!" P.S - region free? bah! its a load of BS |

let me get this straight....Sony supplies goods to Lik-Sang.com, and then sues them to the ground for..."concerns" over voltage safety issues?

I think Sony trying to find loop hole in their current downturn of sales. They wanna cover all areas that might affect them, I for one think that liksang/play-asia are great companies.. it's legal in way but more affordable. U should see how much they are charging here in australia for a xbox360 game.. cut throat

Yes, they continued. But they have already stated that those PS3s on pre-order will not be shipped to Europe. See my post #34.

I think the whole blame cannot be placed on Sony only. The EU has some very strict laws regarding electronics compatibility, voltage safety and stuff like that.Perhaps Sony was forced to take action against Lik-Sang which probably is the most obvious choice for Sony, maybe due to their active trading in Europe.I am not defending Sony but clearly Lik-Sang isn't the only victim here.
Even Microsoft had to bow down to EU laws on the issue of Internet Explorer being bundled together with Windows XP OS. |
