123s is categorized as poor man semi slick
http://www.achillesradial.com/en/tires/racing-tires <--- in racing category lol

while ku36/ns2r are extreme category/borderline street.

having brief experience with the 123 on my iswara, if it's purely track days, it's going to be awesome.
however for street driving especially rain, horrible tires.

Yes. Thats why asking for review. Afraid during rainy days my car only can speed less than 90 with poor semi slick .

Maybe I no balls and no skill.
But when my car was ice skating even stopping for traffic light, that's it, sold the tires straight lol

Extreme category (ku36 or ns2r) should be Ok as they are street tires. Just be more cautious on rainy days.

Haha. Bro you used how long the tyres? Thinking of kumho as my friend said the tyres perform well on dry and wet kinda good also. He plan to change 123S, but seems like I stick back with nankang lol

123s not bad on rainy days due to the tyre pattern is very deep. Decent price for a high performance tyre.

How much is the price?
If serious want performance you'll need RS3 or R888.

I'm highly against the NS2R. Lasted me barely 2-3 months and grip level dropped significantly by the time it hit 30-40% treadwear. Wet grip was decent when it still had threads.

well, the ns2r is cheap and for that it has a huge fanbase among local scene laugh.gif

ad08r on my inspira after 4 track days is nearing it's end quite soon, maybe 2-3 more track days at best.
currently having a headache on how to get the dunlops/bridgestones, maybe going down singapore for them haha

add another rm100/pc and you can get the R1R, lasts more than twice as long and grip level stays same all the way down to tw indicator

then there's the ad08r which isn't too far away from that... and from various feedback, similar feedback, with the treadwear lasting a lot longer.

Yeap if budget allows, the Ad08r would be an even better choice. Lower noise levels and longer lasting than the r1r

don't mind me, i'm just a terrible driver on a mediocre poor man car - Proton iswara 3 speed auto when i used the 123.
if your friend's awesome STI gotten good experience with the 123s, by all means please continue smile.gif

now if you're seriously wanting to learn/know instead of friend friend reviews, do look/google up what are semi slick tires:

er... i dont think can categorize 123s as semi slick? with threadwear of 220. normally semi slicks are around 100 threadwear. with 123s's threadwear n the thread design... somewhere between track/street tires.

Treadwear isn't the sole factor determining a tire category.
Achilles has always been known to have really high treadwear across their range, almost double their competition within the same category.

And again, I am basing this according to Achilles themselves putting the 123s as racing/competition tires.

My own experience matches as well : after warm up, non wet conditions, they are great. On wet, forget about it. Too scary for my own preference.

completely opposite from another review from my fren. daily use with lots of genting trips. wet grip good. dry grip better. overall winner as it was better against his previous sets toyo 888. on a scoobie v10.
