Hi all,

I also received an interview invitation from Cameron, for tendering engineer position.

I am wondering if this position is geared towards sales? Is this a good position for me to learn and enhancing my technical knowledge (for example, instrument design/drawing, P&ID or instrument setup and commissioning)?

Some advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance. smile.gif

hahah it says tendering engineering meaning more to proposals ala quotations....setup or commissioning? nah....generate proposal la maybe

Guys, is Field Development Engineer is a good position? And do u think this position can help me to hop from one to another company?
*
i would think if you like doing doing conceptual till feed type of work this will be one of the godlike post to grow your cv.
knowledge like reservoir, facilities, process, hardware, piping and cost estimates will be vital where you need to pull most money from the hydrocarbon fields.

if you're an operation type of guy, all these means nothing but heck lot of lengthy meetings with bosses and heck lots of paper work

Conceptual design comes after FEED bro...  blush.gif

from where i came from...
conceptual is a stage by itself, some may interpret it same as pre-feed or a stage before pre feed...

guess diff organization got diff understanding

My starting salary is RM2.8K only. But heard from my friend working at RNZ, his starting pay also is 2.8k. Is it because of consultant company gives a lower paid compared with oil company/service company? i m currently working as technical safety engineer.
*
you want to be paid high in consultant? make sure you got flying colors cv in terms of experience, if not especially this kinda sentiment, they will squeeze you.

its abit low for grad but it's more or less around there on the figure in the consultant field

Hi bro,

Almost time of what? Xplain a bit please biggrin.gif

technically got 5 stages...but usually ends with 3...anyway if relook back to the last decade crude oil price....its like stock market...goreng high high then sell down go back ori price....

the scenario now is like few years back all the ong companies kena jackpot few hundred billions and pour all the money out...now is like money all spent and the investment doesnt pay with all the expectations...no choice have to cut sendiri kuku....

if you are intact with the economic stuff, upstream sudah memang like nothing left to worth invest apart from opex (maintenance , repair, inspection) but downstream are doing exceptionally well to cover upstreams' reduced earnings.

for example, do you see your car engine oil, car lubricant and your cooking gas being price reduced followed by the crude oil and gas price fall?

my point is that, there will be a certain bottom in the stage where operator rather to shut off their wells and trade oil/ gas themselves. and also in order to control the wti brent prices
