I think Technip did its part by holding its employees as long as it can. Currently Technip is out of job. So time to chop chop and chop  rclxub.gif

I am guessing you haven't been chop in yet. If you got retrenched see if you still look up to Technip like an angel haha.

When times are good, loyal people leave, companies like this complain no loyal workers all Gen Y like that not appreciative. When times are bad their turn just retrench people and act angelic blame it on the industry. Come annual report, company still make millions. There is no compassionate in this world when in comes to money.

HR ppl need to look after their rice bowl first. Why risk of being black listed by the highest management to "fight" for employees rights?

Agreed they are the master of politics.

Hi I've been looking for this from all the sifus here. Hope it can be answered.

Let say you're not working for the Malaysian NOC (Petronas), you're working for any international producer, for this case study sake (Shell, KPOC, etc), what happens if their PSC ends? Will most of the employees be out of jobs or will they be relocated?

Thanks in advance!

First thing to happen is that before the PSC ends an evaluation will be done to whether to extent the PSC. If yes it will be extended on different T&Cs. If not the employees will potentially be absorbed into the new company who gets the new lease from the NOC or let go.

Good opportunity to join EMRE now. EMRE has been expanding since 3 years ago when it first started. Once in EMRE sure get a chance to travel few times to the downstream plant you are supporting overseas (fly business class). Not sure if now got cost cut a not. Some work few years get overseas assignment as expat.

Lesson learned here always save for a rainy day. Industry price we cannot control. We can control our spending.

Damn what a bad year for me to graduate

Not the end of the world. Few big O&G companies are still hiring fresh graduates. You got 3 years to secure a job in O&G from now as less than 3 years experience still considered fresh grad.

Thanks for the tip.. didn't know up to 3 years still considered fresh (is it true for all industries?)

Not sure for all industries, I only know for O&G. Actually most experienced hire advertisement require 5 to 10 years experience.
