Well, in Sidewinderz case. The only way now is to remove everything down to bare chassis. Then use a dremel with polishing wheel n polishing compound n polish the whole internal section to a mirror shine. A lot of work n very very messy as well. The result is worth it though. What u'll get after all that work is a mirror like interior.

The Plus kit is really good. It directs fresh cool air directly onto the CPU. Then the blower fan exhausts the hot air.

QUOTE(gengstapo @ Nov 5 2006, 01:37 PM) where did ya get those "secret information" d00d? Ure V1000 is older model I think. IIRC the newer 1's can fit long PSUs.izzit me the 1 who supplied to u? anyway, what my geng mention was rite. im using the v1000 + coolergiant psu. i found that the space for psu smaller than my psu. to make em' fit, i have to remove some sort of "aloy wall" near to psu container so i can insert my gigantic psu to my v1000 |

QUOTE(evilnickwong @ Nov 5 2006, 03:44 PM) Speaking of the EX-34 thingie, I really wanted one, but... I can't help but think it looks pretty damn fugly lar. The intake vent design just doesn't match the rest of the case front bezel. Ya man. I oso itching to get the thing. I want it just for the air intake to blow straight onto my gfx cards. But like u sed, looks like shite. So.................... I'll be making my own fan cage for the ROM slots to use in King Kong. |

QUOTE(cablesguy @ Nov 22 2006, 09:26 PM) car polish for sure, no matter how light the polish material is, there will be some abrasive material as opposed to wax, thats why u can wax a car as many times as u wan but polishing is normally done once in a long while as it thins out a little of the paint coating, n after polishing they normally apply a coat or two of wax over it. Anodizing is a process where they treat the aluminum so that it doesn't corrode. It's like chrome plating for steel. They can also add colors. DO NOT POLISH anodized aluminum. It will b rubbed off n irreparably damaged.not sure abt the black aluminium on casing as its not paint right...anodised something...what does that mean...maybe ian will know? Anybody?? |

Aiyaaaaa u all misunderstooded my engrand lar.
Dont polish the external surfaces. That's where the anodized alu is. The internals r untreated alu, that's y it get's dull after a while. |

QUOTE(Doom @ Nov 23 2006, 09:24 AM) Since like Zippo is multi purpose shinning tool ... i saw people at the sticker shop use it to clean the surface of the sticker and make it shine like new..... Zippo fluid is just like WD40 in the hobby world. Both r items u must haf in the cupboard if ure an avid hobbyist. Cant possibly live without them. |

QUOTE(tyrion4 @ Nov 27 2006, 10:28 PM) Eh, I had been thinking of doing the same thing as you. I have a PC60 as well and the 'built-in' grill (like the picture Mersing put up) is seriously impeding the air flow and the vibrations coming off are kinda annoying as well. Dei, I know where u got that 3M spray from. U stole it off the cleaning lady in Ikano. They always leave it in the cleaning carts while they sapu lantai elsewhere 1. You sending in your entire case to ian? Cos I've no idea how to take off the top bit and pass it to him. Don't really want to unplug the whole PC and bring it over to his place. Oh btw: Found a bottle of 3M aluminum (or general metal surface polisher). Works pretty well (spray and wipe off, didn't really have to rub it too hard to get the smudges off). Zippo fluid probably works fine as well. This post has been edited by ianho: Nov 27 2006, 10:40 PM |
