Here's a fairly recent shot of my PC-61 Plus. Will try to get more pics with a better cam if I open it up soon to do routine cleaning.
![]() ![]() Plans for the future? Perhaps an intake in those 3 unused bays at the top. Or, just move to an A10 and sell this one. This post has been edited by evilnickwong: Oct 24 2006, 07:47 PM |

u guys have this problem? i'm using PC-G7
when i plug in my headphone or even my speakers to the front audio jack on the casing, i can hear some soft buzzing sound. kinda like static noise or sth. the sound is the softest when my monitor is displaying white image. loudest when displaying black image. even when i scroll the window or move the window around, the sound gets louder. the buzzing sound continue when i play my games, or even just running WMP with the energy bliss visualisation. but the audio ports on the back of my motherboard is fine (no problem). FYI, i have connected the front audio pins to my mobo header correctly. i ask eddy ATE and he says that he has the same problem on some of the systems too. he asks me to remove the front audio panel and let him check. could this be lianli problem? |

Sorry guys, but aluminum oxidises with oil from human fingerprints. So far, I've not come across any solvent or polish that restores it to its original shiny form.Only way is to avoid oxidation to begin with. That means carefully wiping all shiny surfaces with a damp rag and a small ammount of soap. The WorkRig is as beautiful as when we first met.... ... although my MacPro makes the WorkRig look liked a Proton modded to look like a Aston Martin.... |

Well, in Sidewinderz case. The only way now is to remove everything down to bare chassis. Then use a dremel with polishing wheel n polishing compound n polish the whole internal section to a mirror shine. A lot of work n very very messy as well. The result is worth it though. What u'll get after all that work is a mirror like interior.

PC-A10 owners, can check with you guys whether there's a cover for one of the PSU bracket holes provided? as in if i were to use only one PSU, do they provide a cover for the unused side? or do i have to live with a large hole at the PSU area?
thanks |

Out of my mind...V1000 only cheaper than v1200 for only less than 100bucks....great to know that...
yeah....somebody told me about that too...sometimes need to place order from them... hehe..besides..i love v1000 or else v1200 which worth looking numerous times and after about one year eyeing on that.....it still looks fresh to me.....but....DEPENDS on personal prefrence....otherwise...only certain casing will alive... PC A10 my choice if i have cash to spare la.. prefer functionality of the dual psu than the looks. its not like you will be staring on the casing all the time. the sight will always be eyeballing the screen. the door doesn't take much of the space, but if you often use the disc drive. then its a hassle la

when i bought pc A10 few weeks ago, using dual psu was never came across my mind, the only thing i thought at that time was i could have extra space at the bottom compartment. the extra space is beneficial for watercooling user, and it can also be a place where u can hide all ur cables
contrary to v1000, the gap between the psu and the wall is so small, and if u're using longer psu like enermax coolergiant series, or the newer enermax 1000w , this casing is definitely not for u |

The Plus kit is really good. It directs fresh cool air directly onto the CPU. Then the blower fan exhausts the hot air.

QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Oct 28 2006, 08:08 PM) haha...my air duct and blower fan for my pc-60 plus also didnt use...sad case...hehe...spend money for nothing... I think it makes a difference since the exhaust air from the my blower fan is pretty warm. But I have my reservations about the air duct. My temps are lower when the rear fan acts as an exhaust rather than an intake. Air ducts don't do much when the volume of moved air is very low. Among all Lian-Li, I sort of like the PC-60/007 the most.
It's square shape makes it look tough and modish. However , ever since the V series came out, casing are much more bigger size, thus making the standard ATX casing looks smaller. |

Speaking of the EX-34 thingie, I really wanted one, but... I can't help but think it looks pretty damn fugly lar. The intake vent design just doesn't match the rest of the case front bezel.

That A16 model doesn't look very appealing.
But the EX33 looks OK, the vents now look similar to the main intake vent on my PC-60P. Altho, RM90 is quite steep still. |

hi guys...finally got my PC-A10...but the thing is i can't seem to get the power LED and the power button light to work...i know this is due to the connection to the mobo...i'm using a Asus A8N-SLI motherboard...and no matter how i connect the power LED cable from the casing to the mobo, the lights don't appear...
the reset LED works tho...but no matter how i position the power cable, it doesn't work... anyone have any suggestions?? This post has been edited by mu4ever: Nov 6 2006, 03:35 PM |

i also tot could be the connected wrongly, but i tried either way also cannot...well here is the weird part...the LED is working cause when i connected it to the connectors for the Gameport (saja testing), the LED lights up...
a bit difficult to explain also actually...here's a pic of what i mean ![]() the part in red is where it should be connected...i've tried connecting to it either side of the cable and it still doesn't work...but when i tried connectingg it to the part in green, the LED lights up...but the light for the power button itself doesn't... think could be just a simple thing i'm doing wrongly...blur liao... |

Their website shows that this casing has 8cm rear fan but IINM sometimes lian-li will produce a different version for different region. Will visit ATE tomorrow! |

Their website shows that this casing has 8cm rear fan but IINM sometimes lian-li will produce a different version for different region. Will visit ATE tomorrow! theres still the Lian Li PC-G7 selling for RM308 at ATE for the black model QUOTE(evilnickwong @ Nov 13 2006, 12:23 PM) Yeap, that GT-7 looks like a decent low-budget casing, but I'd pull off the fugly logo first thing tho. the logo may be fugly...but im proud of it babeh!! honestly...i think the black sticker logo blends in much better with the case than the white lian li sticker |

the black sticker is for PC-60Plus. the cheaper PC-7 uses the white with green lian li sticker, which is more ugly.

I used Autosol before on one of my older aluminum cases, it does turn black, then shiny after rubbing it all out. You'll turn a couple of cloths completely black doing this, plus it take lots of time and effort to make sure you don't leave swirl marks too.

So what's the proper way of buffing the internals of my lian li case to a pretty shine without possibly making any irreversible repairs? Clean it followed by a wax with rotary / wax cloth? |

Eh, I had been thinking of doing the same thing as you. I have a PC60 as well and the 'built-in' grill (like the picture Mersing put up) is seriously impeding the air flow and the vibrations coming off are kinda annoying as well.
You sending in your entire case to ian? Cos I've no idea how to take off the top bit and pass it to him. Don't really want to unplug the whole PC and bring it over to his place. Oh btw: Found a bottle of 3M aluminum (or general metal surface polisher). Works pretty well (spray and wipe off, didn't really have to rub it too hard to get the smudges off). Zippo fluid probably works fine as well. ![]() |

From some hardware shop in Klang (near LaSalle Klang). They even had a dremel for sale at that shop. Trust these small town people to stock what you really need.

@ianho Oh i'll send it to you in on the second week of December if that's the case. I'll PM you then. @sidewinderz Yah, I'm been thinking of it and seeing how you're doing it as well now... probably will ask for a 120mm hole to cut off some fan noise. |

I've never seen a use for the blowhole on my PC60, so I've sealed off the entire top of my case with sound dampening material.
That 3M polish looks interesting though, does it leave black smudges like Autosol that you need to rub off later? |

QUOTE(evilnickwong @ Nov 28 2006, 04:11 PM) I've never seen a use for the blowhole on my PC60, so I've sealed off the entire top of my case with sound dampening material. Hot air still goes up...so might as well make use of the conveniently located blow hole to get rid of it. I used to be able to warm just from the heat generated from my computer during winter (with the room doors and windows shut). The moment I opened my door to go the living room, boy was it cold outside. That 3M polish looks interesting though, does it leave black smudges like Autosol that you need to rub off later? Haha, my grandfathers tale. Yeah, the 3M spray is foamy and i haven't had any residual stains in my case after wiping it down. Tried a bit of it on the anodized aluminum and it was fine (although I don't see why anyone would need to do that) If you guys want, I don't mind letting you guys give the spray a try if you're in subang or anything. Not that i'm advocating this product, but i'd be happy to let you guys give it a try before actually spending RM30 on this and coming back to flame me good. Just drop me a PM. I'm in SS18 and im usually free in the evenings. Alternatively, you could just knock a cleaning lady out cold at Ikano and give it a try before she comes to her senses... |

Hey, does anys of yous knows wheres to gets small canisters of compressed air? (for busting dust bunnies). I understand you can use just a simple static free cloth but i'd like to use something to get in between small little crevices and sensitive parts (don't want to knock off a cap in an overzealous attempt to get things clean).

not positively certain but here are the specs:
twin ball bearing 1500rpm 56.3cfm 24.7db 0.27a altho it sure sounds louder than that. |

Ic ... then it would be wiser to replace the fan with CM or Silverstone for silence operation without compromising too much of air flow...

I replaced all the stock LianLi fans in my case with CM Aluminum fans which in its 12cm variant is absolutely silent and pushes a good ammount of air. See sig for pictures.

Doesn't make sense to put on the floor as well since it's too short |

A couple cm doens't seem much but it does feel so much bigger.
Anyway.. whats the point of sticking a full ATX into a semi-"sff" anyway? Me thinks that if I'm gonna stuff a rig full of cards and vga's...big is the way to go. My only gripe with the TJ08 is that they shud've whacked it full with HDD bays like the Soldam... then it'll be perfect MATX rig |

Actually, the Scythe Ninja is 15cm tall and it passes through just nicely on my PC-60 Plus. (About 5mm clearance) I was quite surprised too.

QUOTE(z3r0717 @ Jan 3 2007, 08:34 AM) since i'm done for the day, decided to compare the pros and cons anyway here goes: *looks/aesthetics wise...really tough choice, both also *brand and the quality..think no need to elaborate Other than the abv, my vote goes to A10 for the following reasons *its compartmentalized...heatsource is seperate, looks more structured meaning it helps overall in coming to an easier n more practical solution to assembly, cooling, placement etc *5mm thicker...might help in deciding what to put in...eq thicker hsf *the layout makes for easier cable mgmt *better airflow overall..u can even add an ex34 to make it better *2 psu slots..aside frm being able to put 2 psu duhhh...u can also add another 80mm fan to exhaust more air...better still get a fm82...80mm fan with 92mm fins=higher cfm Also the heat thats not exhausted by the psu fan has another avenue of exhaust. *aside frm that its slightly bigger..ie bigger workspace..alto not much in this case..but still better |

![]() ![]() OK fine, so it looks pretty much exactly the same as my old P4 system lol, but I guess that's what I get for sticking to the same casing haha. Haven't gotten to overclocking yet tho. |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Jan 6 2007, 01:34 PM) yup, agreed space are a lot u just have to be smart enough to place it using double tape...dunno u can screw it or not cause i don't WCooled my proc, so can't give my opinion |

V2000 is the best for WC IMHO. Humongous case. Can fit everything inside nicely. The front part of lower compartment can fit a 2x120mm radiator perfectly. Then even fit another 2x120mm radiator at the top or flat on the bottom n a 120mm radiator at the back exhaust fan. That's a triple loop water cooling system with 3 radiators n 3 pumps all built INSIDE the case. How cool is that?

The G7 intakes are thru the front side slots iinm, but quite a tough comparison....coz the internals not much difference, the pros and cons almost outweigh each other..... for me at least, but the 6077 is quite versatile as the front intake not as restrictive as the other 2 n you can play around with the front intakes or add more, based on looks i prefer G7

for the g7, the fan is just behind the lian li word. it sucks air through the small holes on the left and right of the front bezel.

there's 1 12cm fan located in front of that "slide tracks for 3 hdd".
there's also another 12cm outlet at the rear of the casing. there's also 1 8cm outlet at the top panel. |

thx for the explanation E-J@1, u got a sharp eye for details like Ian
hollowbean, anyway im thinking the fans at the bottom left is a 120mm coz the plate that holds the front intake are meant for a 120mm fan..., what i cant figure out is the 2 back fans...if the front is 120mm how can u fit 2 x 120 mm like that...means u cut the aluminium on top isit? |

i've just bought uglyvamp's fan mesh filter. when it's installed onto my PC-G7, there's still some gap on the side of the filter cos the blowhole is kinda big.
i wonder whether it is useles for me to install that filter since there's a slight gap that may suck in dust. ( any LL user here using uglyvamp's filter? This post has been edited by Skylinestar: Jan 9 2007, 10:12 PM |

Perhaps you can cut the mesh from old speakers. It is the best filter around.

wonder why the black is always more expensive, wonder if black cost more to produce or its due to demand |

it becoz black isn't black as it is ... to achieve black color the manufacturer has to anodized it become black ... which mean extra layer on top of the aluminum itself...
that's why cost more .... This post has been edited by Doom: Jan 11 2007, 04:00 PM |

meaning that silver is untreated?...if so then black would definitely be a better choice then coz untreated alu tends to get finger prints n whatever marks easily...eg the insides of alu cases.

QUOTE(cablesguy @ Jan 11 2007, 04:08 PM) meaning that silver is untreated?...if so then black would definitely be a better choice then coz untreated alu tends to get finger prints n whatever marks easily...eg the insides of alu cases. Both are treated already just that black version has another coating only... if u accidentally scratch the black version u could see the aluminum directly.... QUOTE(kalakatu @ Jan 11 2007, 04:16 PM) ops..sorry bro..wrong information.. U sure it is for PLUS II version not PLUS I version ? i Saw the price list stated PLUS I version ....the price given is for PC-V1000plusII.. meanwhile PC-V1100plusII is retailed at RM838/RM848.. sorry again ye bro..typo error |

if ur thinking of getting one...think u would want to see what hsf u using first, for hsf thats blowing towards the board and not exhaust eg btvx, it doesnt make a difference in temperature and is actually louder, tested it myslef, for a hsf that blows across the board like infinity, the duct wont fit coz the hsf is too high....but it does look nice tho

The duct really is nice design if using original cooler or something low like thermalright XP-120....
Today spent whole day long reading Lian Li PCA10B ...... really seduced by it ... although it is taller than regular case but it does comes with lots of features that new in Lian Li product line ..... Hope to settle with it in the future..... |

It's meant to be used with heatsinks that blow down onto the mobo as per stock heatsinks. So HSF like the XP120 n BTVX n such will b the best. Ure supposed to turn the fan at the back so that i bcomes intake when u use the shroud. So it sucks air in from the back of the case. Nice cool fresh air from outside, the shroud then directs teh air straight down onto the HSF. The way uve describe ure usage makes the shroud useless coz ure using the rear fan as exhaust. that's y u didn't get good results when using the Plus kit. if u wanna use the rear fan as exhaust with the duct then using a HSF that u can set the fan to suck out the hot air (eg. XP120) would help alot in ambient case temps. |

V2000 210x617x625 mm (W,H,D) V2100 210x617x650 mm (W,H,D) PC201 210x590x590mm (W,H,D) or are they slightly different? |
