If you have friends who are into photography, it will be best to use the brands that they are using since it'll be easier for you to learn from them
And not to mention you can borrow their lenses too |

It does not matter what brand you use. Photography concepts are the same for all cameras. Only difference will be how you access certain functions on different cameras.
Just find a brand that you like and are comfortable with. Don't just follow your friends' choices. If you don't like a certain camera, chances are you are not going to use it much thus it does not matter what brand it is. |
