Look at Mata and Fellaini, they both struggled until the middle of this season and they're both very familiar with the league. |

The owners, the board, potential/targeted signings, and the fans.... all want a team that will either win trophies or at the very least challenge strongly to the end, so we can't be excited with a top 4 finish. This season we lowered expectations because of the disaster last season... and the fact that a new manager with his philosophy and heavy player turnover meant things were expected to be bumpy in the opening part of the season. 13 points from 10 games, many injury problems, the team taking half a season to even start showing a promising run of form. Most painfully of all, the flip in results depending on whether Carrick was injured or available. Hopefully Kayu can deliver the key signings LVG wants to balance out and strengthen the squad, and the team can make another jump up the standings next season! |
