Nintendo having a subsidiary in Malaysia doesn't mean they'll focus on SE Asia market. Even now the market is relatively fragmented compared to the likes of EU countries in terms of regulations and such.
Even if they do it'll be strictly for manufacturing purposes only. Most Nintendo hardware are now made in China, and all they got is some portables with crippling region restrictions (though it's largely because of the government's console ban).
