I only manage to get the serial number inside the battery bay. Can anyone tell me why is it my serial number is not shown in the "about this Mac" tab??

Hi i am a new user in Mac, i bought a Mac Book recently and i cannot find the serial in the "about this Mac" tab.
I only manage to get the serial number inside the battery bay. Can anyone tell me why is it my serial number is not shown in the "about this Mac" tab?? thanks |

I clicked the the middle Mac OSX version, then it shown only "serial number Serialnumb" it seems like the the OS is not able to read the hardware serial number. Same in the mac->more info->hardware... |

hi guys i have tried to reset the PRAM it is still the same serial number still not shown...
i guess i need to bring it to the service centre....  anymore mac expert out there can help me???  Thanks |

no expert here, but from my expereince. looks like they given you a repalcement set.
 went I order replacement logicboard for mac, they mostly doesnt come with a serial number. no big deal. as long as your casing's serial are the same on the box as well as shown correct model & warranty information in Apple support page. to read more about this: click here |
