QUOTE(ZeaXG @ Aug 21 2015, 11:53 AM) Agreed. I am a Graham/Buffett follower as well I am very close to entering MBB and other shares at my TP. Right now, although prices are reasonable for some companies, there is just too little margin of safety at these prices for my comfort. And the only thing between me and my TP is EPF trying their very hardest to support the market... lol Quarterly reports are history n does not reflect reality. Going forward, NPLs are expected to rise. That is why prices are going down. But how to do you estimate NPLs? Way back in the last qtr of 1997, NUBE's leader stood on the podium n ask "why is MBB's share price going down when it reported good profits". (he was saying MBB was bashed by foreign funds). Not long after, UMBC collapsed.

QUOTE(drsaleh @ Aug 25 2015, 04:44 PM) Buy klci counter lah... Sure epf support. They play rotational games. Last week digi n tm got bashed down, today digi n tm start shooting after 4pm.. Probably, most of foreigners holding Digi has sold. But there is no guarantee the support will still be there tomorrow. Those who bought this morning would probably have hit n run as uncertainties still abound.

QUOTE(djhenry91 @ Aug 26 2015, 06:27 PM) temporary bull after merdeka gap down??? I agree. the upswing does not accord with reality on the ground. During the last great crisis, USD went up above RM6.00 and in came the infamous "capital control". The big question is if things turn out as bad as before, will "capital control" come in again to save the economy?

QUOTE(infernoaswen @ Sep 10 2015, 08:43 AM) If u are a trend player you will see the lowest point cos trend players never buy at the lowest. They follow the trend. Not able to buy at the lowest does not mean you cannot make money. Even support levels can be broken. Now the KLCi is around 1600 points. Back in 1998, ii fell to a low below 200 points. Of course buying below 200 points have little risk as no market will fall to zero. The companies were still there but maybe making less money. But now with the KLCI around 1600, it is hard to know if it is the lowest.

China’s Premier Li Keqiang has ruled out the use of quantitative easing as a policy to help stimulate growth in the world’s second-largest economy. (South China Morning Post). So no QE to rally the market.

On second thoughts, ValueCap need not actually buy. Since the announcement, retailers who jumped into this wagon is likely to hold their shares in expectation of Santa Claus distributing some freebies. So, the market stabilizes with not much selling and without valuecap having fork out huge sums of money to buy.

Quoting from Next Trade "While setting up a pool to support the market will be good for the market in the short run, the jury is out on whether this will mark the bottom for the market. China, which is still wrestling with measures to support the stock market as well as control its depreciating currency, has very limited success. China stock market is still not far from its recent low and its foreign reserves had dropped substantially. We face the same problem as China - plus the problem of political uncertainty - may have to contain with the same non-plus result." Hope Santa will not lose his way.

QUOTE(kurtkob78 @ Sep 18 2015, 08:15 AM) fed reserve keep interest rate . so fund will flow back to Malaysia? what makes our market that attractive? we have so many problems. we are not the only fish in the ocean. Keeping rates unchanged means more volatility n uncertainty.

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Sep 19 2015, 10:44 AM) DJIA tumble 290 points or 1.74% Both WTI Crude Oil n Brent Crude down 4.73% n 3.28% Will Bursa react negatively on 21/9? A liquidity rally does not depends on fundamentals. When the rally corrects, everybody is wondering where the hell is that Valuecap. If V does nothing n let the market corrects, everybody would be running for their lives for fear of being a Santa. From my experience, Valuecap is playing a smart game n does not intend to be Santa like every player perceives them to be.

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Dec 14 2015, 06:04 PM) Look at what happened after the "No Hike" decision on 16-17 Sept. S&P 500 fell by more than 100 pts. KLCI fell by about 70 pts. Markets basically don't like surprises. Lawrence Summers n Krugman was reported being against any rate hike. From their view, if the economy goes down after the hike, what Fed is going to do? After all, the massive QE has only managed to create a small inflation.
