i use xunlei and max speed only around 50kbps which is quite slow

depends on what is your capped speed by TM, dear. Some ppl paying for 1Mbps d/l package but get 2Mbps d/l. Some pay for 1Mbps d/l but get capped at 512kbps.

then you have to see whether the torrent have healthy seeds/peers or not.

somemore they say TM is throttling torrents. Many factors la...

but anyway, my d/l speed in the morning-afternoon is usually slower than at night-midnight where i can get max speed around 50kbps for my 512kbps line

The newest version of utorrent has the capability to bypass TMnet throttle?
*
using utorrent 1.8 portforwarded and Protocol encrpytion enabled on 512kbps line, I can get up to 53kB/s download speed if the torrent is healthy

utorrent : how to control the seeding sequence?

The latest completed torrent gets seeded while the older completed torrent ends up in a queue.
*
you can't have total control over the seeding. Some older torrents are not in demand, so who r u going to seed to?

but if you want to have some control, just stop seeding the ones that you don't want to seed for now. Later you can continue seeding the files.

I usually keep 1.0 - 1.5 seeding ratio, unless there's no demand for the files. What's yours?

i'm having some weird problem....
my ddl speed was fast & fluctuate around 80-100kbps,but after several minutes of torrenting.....
my browser will showed connection error & not working at all....IE,firefox,chrome & etc.
after exit uTorrent, everything back to normal....
anyway, how to solve da problem?  icon_question.gif
*
you need to reduce your download and upload bandwidth since utorrent is using it all up. If that doesn't help, try lowering your "Global maximum number of connections" too.

work much better  thumbup.gif
but i noticed my ddl speed significantly slower around 30-50kbps  sweat.gif
*
of course la, you're limiting utorrent bandwidth

btw, you're on 1Mbps package?
note that since 1 Byte = 8 bits. Notice the big B and the small b?
1Mbps means 1 Mega bits per second = 128 kilo bytes per second (theoretically)

that means you can download at a maximum theoretical speed of 128kB/s using 1Mbps package. Actual maximum speed may be around 118kB/s

QUOTE(defaultname365 @ Jan 6 2009, 05:57 PM)
Wow.... 80-100 kbps ???

My top speeds are like 50kbps... rarely go past it.
*
you're probably using 512kbps package like me. Theoretical max speed = 64kBps
Maximum (actual) speed around 54kB/s

juz down lil tweak by adjusting "Global maximum number of connections" & "Maximum number of connected peer per torrent"
now even more better  thumbup.gif  stay around 100kbps.....G-SPOT!!!  brows.gif  rclxm9.gif
*
LOL... good for you. Glad I could help.
And it's 100kBps, not kbps tongue.gif

im not portfowarding my utorrent1.8, and my speed is around 10~20.... is there any significant speed increase if i portfoward my torrent? and my i know ur torrent setting? im using 384Kbps streamyx....
*
portforwarding does help, trust me. if you keep getting yellow light at the status bar at the bottom of utorrent, once u portforward u will get green

QUOTE(spawnster83 @ Jan 9 2009, 05:48 PM)
How to enable that?  rclxub.gif

is the utorret port plays big role on the speed or the number of seeders?,
i just fmt my pc, and forgot to copy my utorrent.... i lost all the setting, that i got from utube, izzit on this thread, the link to the vid
*
The settings from youtube doesn't really work, because their ISP bandwidth is much faster than our Streamyx. If you follow their settings, you will find your line choked to the point of not able to surf while torrenting.

The settings that worked for me is

Lower down "Global maximum number of connections" & "Maximum number of connected peer per torrent" and ensure "Protocol Encryption" is Enabled

The torrent port number should follow what you put in your router/modem and firewall during port forwarding

my global maximum number of connections is set at 200, for 512/256 line.
you need to try tweaking it for yourself, especially if your bandwidth is diff

nothing else, really. sometimes i get slow downloads on old torrents too.

if possible, get private trackers by being a member of certain torrent groups. Otherwise, download "hot" torrents released by groups such as axxo (for movies) or Reloaded (games)

add: if you're looking for a specific torrent that is quite old, use Bit Che to search the major torrent sites. Download the one that has most seeds/peers
