i am using utorrent and i can connect to international peers but i can't get a decent speed. all ports are forwarded accordingly in my router but i can't even get 10k for my download speed. Is this due to throttling or due to the quake in taiwan?

I am also facing frequent disconnection from my msn messenger and i can't connect to rizon.net on irc as well. I think this is due to the broken submarine lines but then again it could be due to extreme throttling sad.gif

any opinions? Thanks.

I don't think it will take a year since many business and industry rely on the internet to do business. If the problem is not rectify soon malaysia's image will be tarnished since the best ISP in malaysia is not reliable.

QUOTE
yeap .. if i switch on my windows firewall and test my port if forwarded propely it will return a failure message .. when i switch off the windows firewall my the return message will be all green ..
the return message you are refering to is the web browser that pops up when the port forwarding test is done right?

If you are refering to the message in the web browser then you might want to wait for a while and run the port forwarding test again. It will eventually be OK.

If this does not work try reseting your router and run the port test again. I sometimes face this problem when i change my port. It takes a while before they regconize the new port. I hope this helps.
