My rig is a P4 3 Gig CPU, NVIDEA GeForce 6800 with 512K RAM and I am getting choppy sound when I play Battlefield 2142. My soundcard is a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 24-Bit. When I set the audio setting to hardware mode, the music is okay but the voices is choppy. But when I switch the audio setting back to software mode, there is no problem at all with the the sound and the voices is smooth. I am using the latest sound drivers and even with EAX disabled the voices is still choppy. I am forced to play in software mode because of this problem. Is this a bug in the game or is it a hardware or software driver problem with my sound card which Creative Labs didn't bother to fix? Does anyone here with the same sound card as me have this problem?

you can enable EAX
but please disable the environment or special effects in your creative mixer.

I see it's not the RAM problem but the sound card doesn't have support for hardware audio renderer. Stupid EA wants to force us to buy the latest SB X-FI sound card, eh?!!!! I will just have to play with software renderer then.

it's worth to upgrade to X-fi...
the sound is crisp and you reduce taxing to the CPU

The normal nvidia onboard sound-lah, nothing special. Just install the driver from the nvidia website.
What is T-550?
