Great minds think alike! I'm looking for these fractional (Yes, that's what they call them) plates as well. I've found Iron Woody, but while they do ship internationally, we know how expensive they can get lah.

Have you tried Garage Sales? I've only begun my search today.

Found a lelong seller!

http://www.lelong.com.my/dumbbell-barbell-...7-01-Sale-I.htm

Kind of wary since the seller charges the same KG-per-ringgit ratio even for the 1.25s, because I thought the smaller the weight, the lesser the allowed margin of error?

But hey for 20-odd ringgits, I'm not complaining. What do you guys think?

Hm not sure whether those holes are large enough to fit the bars in most gyms.

Snug fit, maybe? Olympic bars are 50 mm in diameter anyway.

If you have problem finding smaller weight plate, try using ankle weight which can be found easily in most sports store. I'm using it although it looks stupid some time.

They should fit your bar, depending on the quality of the make (Assuming that the plates are really 50mm and not 49)

http://board.crossfit.com/archive/index.php/t-75135.html

http://www.ivankobarbell.com/press/my_plat...t_your_bar.html

Bottom line is, since we're going cheap, it's a risk. I'll bite and get these some time in the near future. Will tell you results then smile.gif

i went into fitness concept 2 days ago and they did sell 1.25kg plates but those were of smaller holes which would fit thin, regular barbells but not those olympic ones with rotating sleeves.

i was thinking of buying them and tying them to an olympic barbell with a rope as my last resort biggrin.gif .

Roughly rm20-30 for a pair of 1.25kg ankle weight. No need to worry about fitting the size of your barbell or not. I think it is a good temporary solution until you get the ideal weight plate.

You just wrap the ankle weight around the end of your barbell like how you wrap it around your ankle. No need to tie them with rope of whatever =)
