How significant in terms of beneficial to the body aesthetics does lifting light compared to not lifting at all?

For example, lifting/working out with machine that is 10 pound lesser than your peak capability just so you don't feel that torturing/pushing yourself to complete your workout session. Imagine working out at weights that you feel most comfortable with and less pain involve..

Compared to not working out at all..

You need ATLEAST MINIMUM 60% of your 1 Rep Max to failure to make gains.

since you're working on aesthetics, its not need to lift >70% of your maximum capacity.
Always remember that quality is more important than the weights you use.
Personally, people look at me and think i lift heavy, but i'm actually lifting about 40-50% of my maximum but slowly and with great quality.
I'm still reaching muscle fatigue and great pumps with the light weights i use.

all those people that say that you need to lift heavy to get wayyyy stronger is right.
But in your case, for asthetics, you don't really need to lift your maximum.

Proper form with moderate weight you can use. I've seen those ppl in the gym lifting heavy with their ego and end up building no muscle gains.
