QUOTE(Huahua30 @ Apr 29 2015, 11:20 AM) Thank you for commenting and your information . lol...just beginner noob here. i bought a racket i cant recall its brand name now, played couple of rounds and then quit oredi... Be right and be honest i am still under intermediate level but i really cannot tahan the tension which below 25 lbs .. lowest i go 26 lbs . .my new yonex racket which stringing max 24 lbs tension is really not a good idea as i can't feel the power. Besides , did you think the type of string we using effect the performance of the racket ? currently i am using yonex BG 65 You do have a good question , however i am not a muscular man but still have the enough power to hit the ball xD .. by the way sir , usually what type of string model you play ?? but i feel higher tension feels more shiok when hitting the shuttlecock...while lower tension (like what we used to have when buying cheap badminton racket back in my younger years) it feels soft and like need more energy to hit it....since the softness sort of like absorb the impact/energy? no? |

Strings Tensions in Badminton
a quick google brings me this enlightening article... basically from what i understand: lower tension - bigger sweet spot, less power higher tension - smaller sweet spot, more power + control but everything done in excessive manner has its negative impact. the article also explain why higher may not be good as well... dun think it'll break ur bone...but it'll causes the infamous tennis elbow...or in this case badminton elbow?
basically from what i understand: lower tension - bigger sweet spot, less power higher tension - smaller sweet spot, more power + control The 'power' doesn't means that you can hit harder, rather is that you must hit harder. The higher the tension the more effort (mainly technique & some sheer strength) you gotta put.
i feel otherwise...but then again dun take my word for it. i'm jus a beginner. |
