Yeah, can handle (even RAW) files so long as you are not using a camera with very high pixel counts (i.e. D8xx series) and you are not doing very heavy rendering/ automation nod.gif
Can read here for more details: http://pixelsdimension.com/getting-a-compu...or-photography/

Laptops are no no for Photoshop.
For lightroom, I've came to realize when you use the brush tools, graduated filters, sharpening, noise reduction, change of contrast/detail you will be lagging quite a bit so not quite suitable for subtle touches.

Lightroom is not coded to use graphics card whilst Photoshop is coded for graphics enhancement. Of course a workstation graphics card tend to work better but any graphics card is faster than non on Photoshop.

Interesting thing if you're using wide gamut monitors, Lightroom does not support 10bit per channel output. Only photoshop does that.

Why not?

It's really fast. 40MP on D8xx series vs 24MP on other cameras - that's really not that much of a difference.

The difference would be the time it takes to process stuff, that's all.

And what are the Macbook Pro that people have been using for same-day video edits?

Many notebook these days come with Core i7 processor and plenty of RAM to handle task, and they can do tasks equally and in some cases better than certain desktop setup.

Pretty sure my laptop lags while editing photos from my D800 laugh.gif, especially when brushes are involved, as mentioned by the other forumer hmm.gif

Using a pretty powerful laptop some more sweat.gif

By the way, the new Lightroom 6 does use GPU to render the image.

Not sure about the current zenbook spec now, but previously my friend bought a Zenbook model with Nvidia graphic.

For those looking for a sleek and relatively light ultra book with great screen, dedicated graphics card and overall pretty good performance. Coz you're willing to splurge for that extra few seconds/mins you save from rendering/saving/edits pics/video....

Get the razer blade 2015.
