QUOTE(icecreamcake @ Apr 30 2015, 01:26 PM) Hi TS, can I know which SC u sent your laptop? Yes this model indeed had bad cooling system since lenovo release this model and a lot of bad reviews of the cooling system. Even u go to reapply thermal paste and cleaning up the whole laptop, its still unable to solve your problems, when compared your laptop with mine, your max temperature still under "safe" level. I've assume the root isn't from your thermal issue but since you had sent your laptop to SC, you can just request them to reapply. Keep in mind SC only will use some budget normal thermal paste, it not really have any significant temperature reduces. IMO, your laptop 60'c at idle is quite normal for this model, mine went to 70'c still working well. y400? that was me.IMO, the SC claimed to take minimum 3 weeks to a month to repairs/services is really ridiculous for me. I had sent my laptop(y400) to 2 SCs in a month. First time is unable to power on, sent to Plaza Berjaya SC, take 7 days repair. Second time due to the RAM slot problem cause the laptop unexpected shutdowns, sent to Seremban SC, take only 5 days to repair. Even when i asked the stuff at Plaza Berjaya about ETA he claimed only need around 5 working days to done the work, he said I can always call the SC ask about the progress if I want to push them. About the hinge issues and screws missing I think is DOA. Did u had checked the laptop completely when u purchase the laptop? BTW last time there is a forumer also said about his hinge cracked issues. You can find it out at Lenovo related thread I can't remember which thread and how long ago. |

QUOTE(icecreamcake @ May 2 2015, 11:47 PM) We have the same issue of y400.. Hehe.. 7447 is currently the budget gaming laptop on par with y400. QUOTE(NetGi @ May 2 2015, 05:18 AM) unstable power source + using w/o battery caused some short circuit. 7447 dell? gtx 850m but similar performance? |

QUOTE(NetGi @ May 3 2015, 01:58 AM) The power brick faulty? Wah like that also can short circuit, I usually use without battery to keep it in pristine condition de.. but if I play Dota2 on battery without power source it will lag like crazy until I set all graphics to minimum.. I suspect is underpower cuz using battery power source = power outlet lor.Dell Inspiron 7000 series? If want on par or better then is RM 3k+ d leh... we still have 3rd world quality electric supply here. p/s: that's why I paid for the casing replacement. |

QUOTE(BBXiong @ May 5 2015, 10:59 AM) 850M is good, but it's running DDR3 or GDDR3 so bear in mind that it will be bottlenecked by memory speed when you're running at full HD resolution. As i recall there's a 850M with GDDR5 as well, but it's harder to find. For the case, if the laptop is not runnig full HD, just the dell tru life resolution, then this should be a very decent gaming machine. that's why 'm waiting for gtx 950m. |
