Originally intending to purchase the Chromecast 2

I'm mostly interested in the casting feature but having Kodi is a welcome convenience.

Questions:

1) How well does casting works on this thing?

2) Does casting only work with official msia orange box versions only?

Having issue with it not turning on after going to sleep. Have to unplug and re-plug.

Any idea why?

Edit: Also the remote keeps needing to repair?

Set Orientation app from playstore not compatible and can't install
