I got a Mi Box S recently. And tried playing an encoded video (720p Dual Audio 10bit x265) but found problems..

1. MX Player Pro - no subtitles
2. Kodi player - no video, sound only, hangs after awhile (can't restart unless hdd unplugged)

Is there something I need to install to get the video in Kodi for this video file?

I had the same problem with Kodi before. Try update Mi Box to 8.1.0 & update Kodi to Leia.

Will check what version is my Mi Box S on and get back to you. As for Kodi, it's using Leia already - 18.x something.

And today there was a new weird behaviour.. while playing a video fine, suddenly signal to the TV was lost. But audio was still running through amplifier. hmm.gif

To the Mi Box S users using an amplifier.. can we use a Mini TOSLINK to SPDIF (optical) like this one (link) to connect from the box to amplifier?
