QUOTE(jchenyp @ Apr 15 2018, 07:53 PM) I encountered this at first too.The real reason is this: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments...n_on_androidtv/ My work around was I did an ADB install of the Set Orientation app APK. Somehow this bypass the need for Android app permissions. ADB install is now my favourite method to sideload apps on Android TV. There is section in this article about using ADB install: https://www.howtogeek.com/280763/how-to-sid...-on-android-tv/ I didn't install Android SDK to get ADB, but used this one from XDA instead: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 hope all this helps. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jun 1 2018, 06:20 AM) Did you turn off your mibox or not? You could just buy rechargeable. The moment I read it's Bluetooth remote, I already bought rechargeable. I turn off by the remote, but box is left with power supply on. and it does some times wake again on it's own. think I should consider power supply off now. probably not powering off means still has drain from the bluetooth connection? Yes i also just got rechargeable batteries for this. |

darn. My Mi Box was also updated to Android Oreo 8 last night, either by auto or accident. I actually didn't want to update it seeing the problems faced.
Although so far what I noticed only is the mouse right-button as back function no longer works. |

QUOTE(lactose_operon @ Aug 27 2018, 09:17 AM) Anybody having problem with their mibox 3? Mine keeps disconnecting from wifi after updated wit oreo Android 8 Oreo for Mi Box had big issues during its initial OTA rollout. I face this issue also.I believe we should all still be on the 2174 version. Hoping the 2179 rolls out soon as it is said to fix/reduce the WiFi disconnection issue. https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/mi-box-...ate-info.45129/ |

QUOTE(niceguypenang @ Sep 11 2018, 08:41 PM) from the first day i recieved my box until today i used usb lan, its stable and consistent.. i never used wifi. i started using a USB Ethernet Hub ( http://www.ugreen.com.cn/product-578-en.html ) but disconnection are also happening on the Ethernet connection! please get the usb hub with usb 3.0 if possible. faster speed, mine is only usb 2.0. less frequent compared to when it was on wifi, but I was expecting no more disconnecting .... do I need to power it with additional DC 5V input ? |

QUOTE(eagle7 @ Sep 19 2018, 11:59 AM) If your WIFI AP is placed far away from your MiBox (different floor or few walls away), your MiBox's connection will be very unstable especially with the latest Oreo firmware. My Mi Box is just 1 foot away from my router and I still get Wifi disconnection. To prove my point, try to place the Wifi AP next to your MiBox or connect your MiBox to your Mobile Hotspot and see whether you still experiencing the laggy or buffering issues. My interim solution while awaiting Xioami's fix, is to setup a Wifi Repeater next to my MiBox. I read in other places that removing Wifi security entirely may work, but then this just seems unreasonable action just to make it work. Ethernet connection I am also getting disconnections. |
