just got mi box s few days ago, no issues so far. sideloaded phoenix tv and it worked well too. met all my needs and im happy

hye, just a quick question, how do you set up your 5.1 speakers? is it mibox - tv (via hdmi) and tv - 5.1 (via normal red yellow white cable) ? hoping to set up a 5.1 surround together with my mibox for netflix session mostly. thank you

Of course can, make sure u are using it with Mi Box alone when u are streaming. If other device(s) in ur network are also using, u might suffer buffering.

tested this as well, using an ethernet adapter, however still same situation.

No, this is the earlier version mi box model 16Z-AB. The latest version is Mi Box S model number 22Z-AB. The old one comes with android tv 6 and the new one comes with android tv 8.1 Here is one listing for the mibox s in lazada. https://www.lazada.com.my/products/xiaomi-i...wOb6t3&search=1

Yes, this is the authorized version by google running offficial android tv. You can install anything you like. I’m not sure on Chinese apps as i don’t use it.
