For me personally,

I will go for carat size about 0.48 (below 0.5 for best budget) because it's perfect for the asian wife unless she has big hands. Too big and I think it's not fashionable on the finger. Too small later end up embarassed if so much smaller than her friends

Then cut must be triple excellent. Always cool to have hearts and arrows design because the hearts design is well, meaningful for the ring. Even among the best certified cuts there are some that stands out more compared to the rest. Some cuts depending on the facets etx, will  have many small  fiery sparkles and some will have bigger but less sparkles. Depends on your preference

Color H is acceptable, very hard to see difference with a D unless you put it side by side

Clarity vs2 is acceptable, usually very hard to see anything unless you really stare into it, seldom ppl will do that

This is the most budget range and acceptable diamond stats I can think of
