Single coil on a derringer. I think you didn't drip enough juice on the cotton. Dunno how you wick it but that's the one thing I can conclude bro.

le gf kena few times with her vertex rda. take of the wick, adjust the screw, dry it up.

sometimes if coil stuck inside the screw hole it can lead to unstable resistance change

better take everything off, clean it and recoil it
that will get burn /dry hit but not resistance going mad up and down

I think you should change coil la. I used to run my derringer single coil on my istick 20W no problem.
