im currently on alexa. want to create a routine when i reach home and when its at night. my garden lights will on. (using smart life wifi switch).

i want to set 2 conditions to trigger my garden lights.

IFTTT can do this however need pay pro monthly subscription only allow this function. (2 condition trigger)

anyone got other solution to this?

my current routing is

when say alexa, im home,

do= play spotify, turn on living fan and lights.

but i want to use same routine but add another action to turn on garden light when its only at night and when i say im home

To control AC switch on when near home...thanks
*
are you going to use alexa or google home ecosystem?

if alexa or google home ecosystem then need use broadlink.

xiaomi ecosystem does not work with alexa or google home

the first link. too costly compared to 3 gang which only cost rm55 i rather just do 4 become 3 switch which is more cost effective. besides just for garden wall lights.

second link. this 1 is not switch is just push button remote control.

What a fuss having or not having capacitor? I thought in Malaysia most house has no N at switch.  hmm.gif

That's the problem. So need to find the one that no need neutral line.

But I think most people use this. Will likely install at main switch panel. Where got aircond switch. Which that switch got neutral line. Just tap that line to use with smart switches.

For my case. My garden side switch panel is at different location from the aircond switch. Just don't have access to neutral line

No choice just have to use without neutral line

Ya most dont, but some have option to pinjam the neutral from the AC switch if its side by side and some of the newer switches dont need capacitor even if no neutral.
*
Ya. My living room switch panel have 2 ac power just tap from there lo.

I think you can still diy by just going up the ceiling and just pulling the neutral wire to the switch. That’s what my father in law (retired tnb staff) taught me, easier than expected
*
Problem is that I have no access to ceiling which is plaster ceiling.

Luckily the garden switch is adjacent to isolator box. Hopefully can truck the neutral line from there.. Just scared no way to fish the line from isolator box. Since its concealed in the wall. (additional wiring from original house)

Wish me luck.

im not sure about the internal differences between these 2.

just checked the signal strength using Smart Life app and it shows the Door sensor and Motion sensor as bad connection, though a tuya zigbee switch is in the same room. ordered the sonoff stick to be placed on the second floor, hope it will solve the issue
*
you can get something like the zigbee repeater to boost the zigbee signal.

i also have same problem with my zigbee hub. once i start using sa zigbee repeater. all my zigbee wall switch connected to the zigbee repeater then back to zigbee hub. no more bad connection issue.

I'm using some of these and I noticed they are often slow to respond or disconnected sometimes. I originally thought its because they were the furthest switches away from the zigbee router and coordinator, now it seems like others are having similar issue too
*
previously i also facing the same issue like yours

but after i discover that the router signal not strong enough i bought a usb zigbee repeater and put it in the zigbee network.

now all my zigbee switches (total 15 switches) all can communicate with ease no lag whatsoever.

can you share link ka?
looking for Moes-Tuya switch, 2 gang and 3 gang
seems all need neutral

my house also using moes zigbee switches but i connect the switches with neutral line from air cond switch.

works very good after almost 1 year liao. rarely had any disconnection issue from zigbee system unlike wifi switches the wifi of these switches not very stable. sometimes can trigger sometimes cannot.

my zigbee gateway also from moes but using lan cable type not wifi type.

however, i also added a zigbee usb dongle repeater. if only using the gateway. most of the switches connection not stable. after adding the repeater. confirm stable. no problem with zigbee connection.

and also the reaction time of zigbee is faster than wifi type. my door sensor is wifi type. when open door. there is a delay of 5s only trigger my routine to on all light switches . planning to swap the door sensor to zigbee type,.

wifi type door sensor the battery usage like drink water, every few months need to change battery liao. very annoying since someday sometime when open door wont trigger routine. due to door sensor battery kong.

I saw some review saying Hub with network is more stable, izit true?
Since I already bought Near Hub, I dont have to install Near apps rite? Just Tuya app will do rite?
*
confirm more stable using lan cable for the zigbee hub. my house using lan cable zigbee tuya hub. with more than 20 zigbee switches link to the hub including a zigbee signal repeater. not ever once fail to trigger light through the zigbee . unless no internet connection.

the main reason wifi version of the zigbee hub tend to be unstable is because it is using the old standard of wifi 2.4ghz wireless N (not wireless ac or even wifi 6). this wifi standard is so old school. when connect to more modern wifi router (wifi 6) will face wifi drop out between the hub and router. ( frequent offline) .

i exterence this with my wifi version of smart plug . one day can offline twice.

if zigbee switch never offline even once. (when connect through lan cable zigbee hub)

want to ask. anyone here installed wall switches with neutral line from nearby 20A aircond swtich . (wifi or zigbee) having issues with air cond pc board problem. ?? im pacing air cond pc board problem for 2 of my air cond. not sure is the smart switch causing this problem or is it the aircond old age d. (air cond is inverter type)

another note is sometimes i on my store room flourosent light (using starter type) my LED downlight wihich is connected to smart switch with neutral will flikker when the starter try to light the flourosent light.

not sure this flikker thing will affect the pc board or not

No prob whatsoever. Using this method on my Aqara S1E switch. Not optimal of course, i would like to have a dedicated neutral coming down from the light fitting but i cant be stuffed to open up the ceiling to draw a new cable down. Like Oltromen Ripot said, connect the neutral to the side that returns to mains. That way, when you turn off the double pole, your switch will still function and not cut off. But you have to make a note in your DB, so that any time there is a re-wiring or maintenance, the electrician knows that there has been a “looping” that has been carried out on your circuit.

ya i connect all my smart switch neutral to 20A neutral line (N) not N1..
