Is there any 20A 2P wall smart wifi switch available in the market now?

I have Joven JH50 50L Horizontal Storage water heater installed above the ceiling at my house. The 20A 2P neon switch currently located at my master bedroom upstairs . And the prob arises while I am at downstairs and need to turn on that switch, I have to go upstairs and manually turn it on. Would it be nice if I can have wirelessly turn it on with my phone.

Thanks!

Hi all,

Is there any compatible alarm siren that can works with SONOFF RF Bridge ITEAD 433MHz?

I'm planning to pair with Sonoff DW1 sensor and once activated the siren goes off. Dunno which type of siren that can be linked to Sonoff RF Bridge.

Thanks

Hi sifus 3 questions for smart home devices.

1. Which one is better, need to be installed without neutral wire and need to be worked with google home. Currently got installed so many sonoff things ( Sonoff T1 for water pump with neutral wire,DW1 door sensor,Wireless Smart Switches for floor lamps,PIR2 sensor,RF bridge)

Wireless Hub : Xioami Mijia
Smart Switch : Xiomi Aqara Smart Switch

Wireless Hub : Broadlink RM2 Pro
Smart Switch : Broadlink TC2 smart switch

2. After reading several threads here, I've been thinking to install sonoff POW R2 to control/monitor the aircond usage but need to have IR contoller also to centralize all the remotes (Brodlink RM2 pro kinda like). If I put the Broadlink Rm2 pro at my ground floor living room, does it really can control aircond located in 2nd floor? Hows the coverage ya?

3. I have storage water heater Joven JH50 installed with 2pole neon switch. What's the best smart switch I can use here ya?
Joven JH50

Hi anyone familiar with relay which has "dry contact" features? like this SONOFF RE5V1C - 5V Wifi Inching/Selflock Relay Module. the relay has no voltage at all? i prefer sonoff sv because of flexible input voltage but sonoff SV does not feature dry contact. can i use non dry contact relay with Autogate board ?

get sonoff 1 channel Inching/Self-locking Switch 5V 12V. it has a dry contact relay NO and NC and you can power it up using 12V DC from the autogate board or the backup battery. as long as it has esp8266 and a relay that would be suffice to control anything.

example image attached is my setup for my autogate and doorbell. i flashed the module with tasmota and control it with HA. also use esp8266 with 1 channel relay to sense the doorbell press.it runs custom firmware thru esphome. what u can do with that is limitless smile.gif

You can see the difference between putting the capacitor across the switch and across the lamp in my rough diagram below

[attachmentid=10348042]

Putting at the lamp there means you create N line by bypassing the lamp. Crossing at the switch is like doing nothing  biggrin.gif

Actually, the lamp like incandescent lamp is connecting the N to the switch. So, basically, when you have the touch switch replacing the normal switch, the current can flow and power the touch switch. Since the lamp filament is high resistance, the amount of current that can flow though it is low, enough to power the touch switch but too low to glow the filament. Therefore, the lamp is actually on but just cannot see the light  laugh.gif

Using LED lamp in place of incandescent lamp the amount of current is even lower, thus not enough power to operate the touch switch. That is why the capacitor is put at the lamp to leak a bit more current to touch switch circuitry to enable it to operate. Otherwise, the touch switch will not work at all or barely work which cause the flickering LED light.

Some touch switch can still work without bypass capacitor. Maybe it uses very less power or the LED bulb used has enough leakage current to supply to the switch. Therefore, the bypass capacitor is not a must. You just need to install if flickering happened, but if you still want to put no harm is done. The capacitor will bypass very small current due to its low value thus robbed very low current. This will not affect the operational of the LED of normal bulb.

Wah! Your auto-gate board is small
*
my autogate is DCMoto gfm-925w that comes with that board. i think all recent autogate got same function with almost identical board layout

Hi, i have the same autogate as you and have been thinking how to control my porch light when i open the gate. Just wondering how do you tap the signal when the gate open or close for your automation?

Im not an expert with electrical so please bear with my stupid questions...

Edit: im using mi ecosystem with no custom firmware.
*
i dunno about mi ecosystem. are you controlling your porch light using the board or just normal on/off switch?

if u are tapping porch light from the board,u must know that the board can activate the porch light when the gate is opening and will turn off after the gate is closed.

below taken from the user instructions of the dcmoto gfm925w
QUOTE
Pillar Lamp Control
Automatic Mode: When the gate is open during it is dark (detected by the photo sensor), pillar lamp will be switched on. After the gate is closed, the lamp will go off after 1 minute. Manual Mode: On and Off from the keypad or the remote control. [#]

ps: photosensor always on the board that always dark biggrin.gif

but if you have normal on/off switch then you should do the automation. sense the gate is opening then turn on the porch light and vice versa.

to sense the opening/closing gate, if you using the same board as mine, i would suggest to use optocoupler 12VDC. input side tap it on port on autogate board it says LAMP. then other side tap it onto any GPIO,for my case i will tap on my sonoff 1ch on GPIO14,GND,VCC. need abit soldering. to simplify it

open gate>board sense it then send 12VDC to port LAMP>opto isolator triggered>pull dow logic to low GPIO14>publish MQTT gate open. the logic low will retained as long as the gate is open

and after the gate is closed, the board will stop send 12VDC after 1min to port LAMP> opto isolator not triggered > logic high on GPIO14>publish MQTT gate closed.

sorry abit long to explain.

optocoupler example

From the photo near the bottom right, I believe he connect the Common and NO port of the Sonoff to the place labeled as "P SW Normal" of the autogate board. Refer to the white cable with a red strip for connection

Actually I hope someone bought the smart plug and can share the shopee or lazada link
*
i already bought 2 types of smart plug for testing purpose and found out there were 2 types of it. One used ESP8266 chip and the other one used W600 which not compatible with Tuya convert. Will post later the link for the one that compatible

attached is the chip W600 for smartplug that doesn't compatible with Tuya convert

If you are using HA with ESPHome, can try from the blog below
https://frenck.dev/diy-smart-doorbell-for-just-2-dollar/

Cheap parts and no soldering needed
*
Have been running $2 smart doorbell for almost 5 months with no issue, follow exactly like the Frenck's blog..spare time during MCO

I just go extra miles by sensing the press and use HA camera snapshot (my CCTV camera) to push the notification to my phone,
I even push the message to google home mini to announce something like "Ting tong...someone pressing your doorbell!"..works great!

really usable when abg pos laju come in or monitoring your gate if someone tries to check if someone not at home

What's the maxiumum resolution? Or is camera dependant?
*
u can stream rstp anywhere as long as it is supported.
u can choose the rstp stream to be main stream or second stream. like mine i use rtsp main stream for hikvision cctv on HA. total 6 cameras loaded in HA and the resolution seems clear

for doorbell i use snapshot.camera service in HA to capture the picture once the doorbell is pressed. u actually also can stream ur cctv video thru push notification once the doorbell is pressed, but i find it a bit laggy so picture is enough for me
