My current house wall switch come with neutral wire. But I am moving to a condo where all wall switch don't come with neutral wire in next few months.
Is is possible I get a Aqara wall switch (no neutral) to replace my current house wall switch? As I just want to try it out, and bring it to my condo later.

If you don't plan to pull neutral wire for the new house, you could just re-use those switch again with this trick » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « No, my house don't have any smart switch yet. And I don't plan to pull neutral wire for the new house. But I would like to try out smart switch now. Just wonder if I can get a no neutral aqara smart switch and install it in my current house or not.

QUOTE(cdspins @ Mar 9 2023, 09:05 AM) Wow... 10 years ago already pull neutral wire? You sure it is not looping wire which is no longer in use? Good question. Don't think it's wire that no longer in use because still connected to current switch.

QUOTE(celciuz @ Mar 9 2023, 02:46 PM) There’s the extra black cable but you said it’s connected to the switch? Connected to where? The Live portion? Or is this for the 20A switches? It look like this, that's why I thought it is neutral wire.

QUOTE(Max @ Mar 14 2023, 08:22 AM) There's no Neutral on that switch box. in common wiring (local here/Malaysia) practice, coloured cable is Live usually. Neutral will be black. all the 'looping' in one terminal is Live source from supply DB or from another looping in another switch nearby. Thank you for clarification. Can I loop with Aqara Smart switch?

QUOTE(Max @ Mar 14 2023, 09:46 AM) Can use any smart switch as long as no Neutral needed. 'No Neutral' smart switch some models need 'bypass' capacitor install at load. How to tell which models need 'bypass' capacitor? I am looking at Aqara E1 2 gang switch (No neutral).

This is my aircond 20A switch. In order to use Aqara switch with neutral, where should I connect the neutral cable to the Aqara switch? N1 or N2?

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Oct 20 2023, 10:29 AM) no correct answer. you have to test which cable comes from DB and which goes back to DB. that will be the L and N expected by the switch for its logic board to operate. if you instead connect L that is supposed to go out to your device, then the switch won't be powered. if you instead connect N that is supposed to come back from device, then the switch won't be powered. So I have to find out N1 or N2 come from DB, and connect my Aqara switch to there to achieve neutral loop?

I think I might did something stupid. I got an Aqara A100 zigbee version and Aqara M2 hub (global version), but Aqara Smart Curtain/E1/S1E switches (China version).
Can the A100 pair if I set the M2 hub to China region? Or I have to set those China version accessories to Homekit mode?

I have a very weird situation. I owned an ASUS TUF AX5400 router, and LG Puricare water purifier + LG TV in my previous house. They are connected in ThinQ app, and always online.
But when I moved to new house with the same router, with more smart devices, eg: Aqara E1 hub, S1E panel, LG washer and dryer, Samsung Bespoke fridge. LG and Samsung devices started act weird and offline in ThinQ and Smarthing App until I reboot the router.
After reboot, all LG appliances show online, but after some random period, from 15-30mins, maybe more, they started go offline. Same goes to Samsung fridge.
The router have the same setting like my previous house. I tried to remove the Smart Connect, to separate 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, disable 802.11ax mode, set static IP, none of them help.
I even remove all appliances from ThinQ and Smarthings App, and leave the Puricare in the ThinQ app, it still show offline where it work flawlessly in my previous house.
Aqara E1 hub and S1E always online though.
I wonder what is missing in my troubleshooting.

QUOTE(loonsave @ Nov 29 2023, 10:18 PM) I made the 2.4ghz to WPA2-Personal still the same. Made some changes in router and so far everything stable. 1. Separate 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz SSID 2. Disable 802.1ax mode 3. Change channel from 1 to 6. Not sure this does help or not since my old android phone cannot scan channels nearby. 4. Change channel bandwidth from 20Mhz/40Mhz to 20Mhz only. 5. Change Authentication method from WPA2/WPA3 to WPA2-Personal only. Delete all IoT and add again.
