QUOTE(alucard89 @ Jan 17 2020, 08:58 AM) Maybe need to add some more presence sensor also I was just joking but yes need that sensor, thus there is not need for the trigger when opening door then. It becomes redundant. Opening door trigger, the system need to know you are entering or leaving the house

QUOTE(wailing81 @ Jan 21 2020, 11:43 AM) thanks for the update. it stated support to 200sqm, is it sufficient for 2 storey house? It is a simple question but difficult to answer because many factor involved other than square feet. You can just buy and evaluate. If coverage not good, just add more

QUOTE(excaliburcombo @ Jan 30 2020, 02:07 PM) Hi would to like some advice my sonoff wifi tx 3 gang just notice it restart/trip when i turn kdk fan speed to 5. Speed 1-4 no problem. Only restart at sonoff no trip at mcb...Neutral come from fan regulator. It is most likely like what Fubar20 stated. When switching on the fan at 1~4 setting, there is certain resistance in the circuitry that prevent current surge from being too high. With setting to full speed, the starting current surge brought the sonoff unit down to reset. I think there is sonoff WiFi for fan which may prevent this from happening. The switch may have soft start circuitry. https://www.itead.cc/sonoff-ifan02-wifi-sma...with-light.html

QUOTE(adamw @ Feb 19 2020, 02:07 PM) Nowadays almost all brands have "Single Fire" the terms used by Chinese supplier for no neutral switches. For WiFi, still limited number but growing. Usually just Zigbee and normal touch switch

QUOTE(Fubar20 @ Feb 24 2020, 02:45 PM) What do you mean by DHCP issues and hacking in WiFi switches? Care to elaborate if you face it yourself. I am using Sonoff switches using DHCP assigned IP and static IP with no issues. As for hacking, do you know recently there was security issues with Zigbee lights by Philips Hue? Hack your light switch for what?

QUOTE(kelembai @ Mar 16 2020, 02:50 PM) my aqara wall switch double rocker fail to pair with gateway, the gateway i put at 1st floor and this switch at ground floor , is it because of the zigbee low coverage, if i need to extent what is the cheapest option I'd say using the zigbee mesh controller is the best but depends how big is your network and how zigbee devices are located. Maybe this will help to get idea. https://www.control4.com/docs/product/zigbe...tices-rev-d.pdf

QUOTE(AlphaM @ Apr 2 2020, 01:34 PM) any idea is this 433Mhz or 330MHz? Try to look at the value on crystal (circled item in Fubar20 picture). Probably on the the side of the PCB? Anyway, it looks like corrosion on the battery terminal there. Maybe battery already leak. Need to clean and change battery, else permanent damage

QUOTE(AlphaM @ Apr 2 2020, 05:10 PM) this is strange, does not have that thing I thought might be on the back of the PCB but very unlikely. It is strange indeed. Looks like the frequency is tuned using that blue VC1. Maybe just assume like Fubar said

QUOTE(loui @ Apr 4 2020, 06:57 PM) aduh, no wonder so need to Sonoff --> driver --> LED sudah burn 1 They use the term driver and many think this is something new technology and term. Well it is just a power supply for the LED. It can be build into the light unit itself or separately. If separately, then need to use. The LED light use DC supply and the so called driver convert the AC to DC. The voltage can be 5V, 12V, 24V, 48V, whatever, but the LED light use constant current source which means that even if the DC input voltage varies, the current flow into the LED is constantly the same thus keeping same brightness.

QUOTE(ibexgeo @ Apr 12 2020, 06:50 PM) Hi sifu, thanks for your suggestion, also worry usb not able to power up the camera. will this power up the camera? IP camera → micro usb to usb cable(default cable) → usb to rj45 converter → cat7 cable → PoE splitter to plug First you have to know if your IP camera support PoE. If it does then which class of PoE (like PoE+ etc.). Ayway, the normal PoE I think can go up to 100m for power requirement of 15W. If you IP camera does not require power more than that then 20m is not problem. You can still put your power injector far away in house

QUOTE(meerule @ Apr 16 2020, 12:03 PM) Can you or anyone share how to install or any work done before? thinking on where to put the switches/relay. Malaysia's normal socket is not that deep to put in the relay inside the socket housing. let say if someone is using the sonoff mini. The hole has conceal plastic base which make it difficult to hack and deepened the hole. Probably can hack the wall to the side and wire to it. Still this require hacking job
