Looks like Apple HomeKit will be supported by Xiaomi Aqara very soon. Alexa can work as well but no news about Google Home yet.
*
you referring to the youtube video on the Aqara Shanghai exhibition?

New to smart home technology. Soon, I'll be getting a place of my own, hence I'm trying to learn about smart home devices in Malaysia market.

Decided to go the Xiaomi path primarily due to the cost and wide variety. Also, I'm currently using several DaFang cameras and it make sense if I continue using the same eco system especially since everything is controlled by the Mi Home app.

Here is my laundry list of areas I would like to automate

1) Air Condition - thinking of Aqara Gateway Air-Conditioning Companion, but uncertain if the amphere can be supported by Malaysia air-conditioners. I see most of the Malaysian socket is 20 Amp, while Aqara Gateway Air-Conditioning is 16 Amp. Also, I would also like to change the wall socket the the China version first before plugging the this device.

Can anyone share your thoughts

2) Mijia Bluetooth and Humidity Monitor - This works in conjunction with the air-conditioner

3) Mijia Smart Home Gateway primarily as a bell. Plan to get 2 devices, at least when it rings the bell, the sound is audible at the living hall ground floor & bedrooms on the 1st floor.

I'm wondering if it can pair up to ring together? Also, for the switch, will it survive the outdoor elements if I were to place it at the gate pillar?

4) Air purifier when the air starts to smells or haze

5) Yeelight Ceiling Light - to be place on living hall ground floor as well as bedrooms. It is quite pricy at RM300 a piece.

Just wondering if 1 bluetooth remote control can be paired to 4 ceiling lights at the same time. Also do I need to get Aqara Wall Switch to control the electric circuits.

Thanks for your feedback

Just a quick comment.

i find that the air purifier is not working as well as advertised as my master bedroom is still dusty although the unit is running most of the time. On the plus side, it does offer some degree of automation, although you will not have ways to alert you on the haze level and turns itself on for you as the MiHome app does not include Malaysia's weather forecast. To get rid of smell still fine.

if anyone know of ways to do this, it would be great. For dust control, i now have a xiaomi robot vacuum. it works very well, especially with its recent plugin update which brings some functions from the 2nd generation over. worth considering that.

no need hub, just need to download the Mi Home app and your Wifi to work
I have to warn you - of all the Xiaomi things, their IP cams are the most unstable but they have regular updates and for RM100, dont ask too much  sweat.gif

i agree. notifications sometimes ok, sometimes not. all depends on their server i guess.

Im using this one 720p. It is good to integrate with mijia app, automation geo fencing, to suspend it when i return home. The camera will rotate to the back when it is suspended & give u peace of mind for privacy[attachmentid=9773539]

this comes with function to avoid false alarm at certain zone right? Da Fang does not seems to have this and when the notifications are working, i keep getting alerts when a small motion is detected. rclxub.gif

wiring is a pain for me as i had a tough time closing the damn thing back into the wall junction box.
anyone planning to get this better take note that you either need to ensure that the wall cavity is large enough to fit this guy and also the thick cables already in the junction. Else, will need to be creative in organising those thick cables to avoid this unit when closing. Same goes for the other Aqara wall socket (china pins) with zig bee control function. Maybe China's junction boxes are deeper hmm.gif

A PSA to all for those who own / uses Xiaomi's Phillips Smart bulb, don't update to the latest firmware for the time being, there is a chance that your unit may end up being bricked.

Most CCTV servers are in SG. It should not be an issue.

If you want a cheap RF hub, why not choose Sonoff RF Bridge? IFTTT compatible so SIRI should be compatible.
Think I show this before

Don't know if this will help
My current setup:
most of it bought from zeyue.my shoppe
DGNWG02LM - brain
QBKG12LM - double gang with neutral (for no.2, so far i have yet to see any international vs. china version)
QBKG11LM - single gang with neutral
WXKG02LM - double wireless (for toilet other room to control another double gang neutral)
QBCZ11LM - smart sockets
YLDP06YL - Yeelights RGB V2 (bought philips before as well, the lumens low so i am not using it, lucky bought 2 to try nia)
aqara magic cube (most useful among all imho) - dunno which version bought from Kpapa

other things added
vacuum robot v2, xiao ai mini, BLE cleargrass temp, a few dafang and PTV cameras from vision gadgetary in klang

all syncing but that BLE cleargrass a bit useless cos kenot connect to the internet unless i get something with BLE + wifi. e.g. bedroom lamp. Looks good nia.
yeelights work on all server, tried before, but the rest i only use china server.

all linked to china server

How is the experience with Xiao Ai Mini so far? Was it worth investing if I'm on Xiami ecosystem?

anyone using Xiaomi's Philips LED E27 bulb with their motion sensor here?

Facing some issue with the automation scene to turn off the LED when there is no motion detected for 10, 20 or 30 minutes, all of which would not turn the light off, and would appear with "Abnormal Failure" in the log.

Previously this was working fine, not sure if there's any fix to this.

*
i've seen one with supports 4 channel, but much more expensive and not worth the price if you only need 2 CH.

No, if set to China region, there is no support for alexa and google
*
if on "non-China region", what sort of xiaomi does this Aqara hub support?
I own the first generation xiaomi hub and some of their switches and bulb, but there's only the XiaoAi option as voice command. Would like to try the Google integration if Aqara or most of xiaomi sensors are supported.

Probably 50% kua. Currently at above 55%

Depend the sqft of the space.

Larger space, take longer or maybe cannot reach low humidity. And how tight the door close and seal.

If want reach lower, place few rod in it.

The rod come with 2 size and watt. 9w and 12w.
*
so these "rods" are just heating elements?
