New to smart home technology. Soon, I'll be getting a place of my own, hence I'm trying to learn about smart home devices in Malaysia market.
Decided to go the Xiaomi path primarily due to the cost and wide variety. Also, I'm currently using several DaFang cameras and it make sense if I continue using the same eco system especially since everything is controlled by the Mi Home app.
Here is my laundry list of areas I would like to automate
1) Air Condition - thinking of Aqara Gateway Air-Conditioning Companion, but uncertain if the amphere can be supported by Malaysia air-conditioners. I see most of the Malaysian socket is 20 Amp, while Aqara Gateway Air-Conditioning is 16 Amp. Also, I would also like to change the wall socket the the China version first before plugging the this device.
Can anyone share your thoughts
2) Mijia Bluetooth and Humidity Monitor - This works in conjunction with the air-conditioner
3) Mijia Smart Home Gateway primarily as a
bell. Plan to get 2 devices, at least when it rings the bell, the sound is audible at the living hall ground floor & bedrooms on the 1st floor.
I'm wondering if it can pair up to ring together? Also, for the switch, will it survive the outdoor elements if I were to place it at the gate pillar?
4) Air purifier when the air starts to smells or haze
5) Yeelight Ceiling Light - to be place on living hall ground floor as well as bedrooms. It is quite pricy at RM300 a piece.
Just wondering if 1 bluetooth remote control can be paired to 4 ceiling lights at the same time. Also do I need to get Aqara Wall Switch to control the electric circuits.
Thanks for your feedback
Just a quick comment.
i find that the air purifier is not working as well as advertised as my master bedroom is still dusty although the unit is running most of the time. On the plus side, it does offer some degree of automation, although you will not have ways to alert you on the haze level and turns itself on for you as the MiHome app does not include Malaysia's weather forecast. To get rid of smell still fine.
if anyone know of ways to do this, it would be great. For dust control, i now have a xiaomi robot vacuum. it works very well, especially with its recent plugin update which brings some functions from the 2nd generation over. worth considering that.
