B4 u hv water leak sensor, did u hv ocd keep checking for leak regularly those area? Just out of curiosity
No, never check. And so happens that the bathroom where it detected leaks 3 times, only my guests uses that bathroom so I won’t know if not for the sensor
sifu, I would like to automate my plug socket , has 4 socket at tv area for home entertainment, which one I should buy, sonoff 4ch or 4 ch pro. Basically just to control on and off the appliances via GH or Alexa only
Thank, can be consider and practical but need to have 1 more app
sonoff is not really for you...not for your purpose in mind (entertainment center) if you got kids, thats even worse if you want sonoff then get the smart plugs

this thing saved me a few times already. Warned me that my bidet hose is leaking. I put them near the drain holes in the bathroom. I also put at one my window ledge, cause when it rain, sometimes the water can come in. Warn me to close the window.
Give me an idea to put it outside to detect the rain, give alert when i hanging some cloth outside. But need to find a right place. Can i put it direct contact to the rain

i dunno how long it can tahan our hot Sun and whether the zigbee signal can reach your hub i suggest you to use a long wire and connect the leak sensor to this. put the sensor inside the house and this sensor pad outdoors - https://www.gearbest.com/other-accessories/...tml?wid=1433363

That thing is just tinned copper I guess. When wet, the water sorted the +ve and -ve side and trigger.
The problem is:
It is raining. The sensor triggered and relay the signal through zigbee. Your gateway send notification to your phone but you are in office 20km away Yea.. yea ok. You closed window before go office
Why not make the window auto closed since you are now in toilet doing big business
My house when rain comes, the awning produce noise loud enough to trigger me to run and get my laundry outside

go ask kelembai - its not me wanting this rain sensor
talking about "windows auto close" - i was looking at one. Then I saw my downstairs neighbor pun pasang one.... I wonder how much it cost?

i saw one youtuber connected it to the xiaomi door sensor - i cant find the video now but i imagine it works the same way. no hacking at all, just connect straight to the two contacts he didnt even use the electronics board from the rain sensor

Getaway trigger, i know it rain , Get out and take the cloth in and i off the sensor
Just use it when i hang my cloth outside , ya probably just put the sensor when i hang the cloth only,

Like isaid, just use it when necessary, kind of buzzer when you order something and need to wait

Door sensor works when the magnet is near the Reed switch. This one triggers when there is water which makes current flows more. Maybe when current increase then the magnetic field increase and trigger the Reed switch.

i know....i was thinking why he didnt use the water leak sensor instead but he chose the door sensor anyway the magnet is not use. he connect the wires directly to the reed switch. water is enough to close the circuit...
